An RS3 Drag Race against an R8, RS6, S1, RS2 and Ducati

Followed an RS6 down the motorway yesterday. A stunning car to look at.
 
With no DC gearbox how is he able to hold the RS6 on the line though? If you look at the vid (6:35) it seems to be straining to get away and being held back somehow then boom it's gone!

Yep, he's just loading up against the torque converter. Allows for a brutal getaway though!

In the video comments Matt replies to a question about the RS6 jumping the start:-

Actually I was just faster off the line. We should have shown the countdown - the Launch control systems take a split second longer to take off than the Torque Converter Auto held on the brakes. Honest.

Not a bad review of either car. I must admit I wouldn't mind a drive of the new focus RS but I won't be giving up my rs3 anytime soon.

Little drag race I had 2 brake early had a car parked on my side.

The Audi RS3 is definitely the Mega Hot Hatch of all. The Power plant with its 5 cylinder 2,5 L Engine is astonishing, It have the best engine and sound exhaust of all Hot Hatches.

 
Have they turned the sound down on the BMW ;)

Looks like RS3 has it from zero but M2 tiny bit faster on the roll. Not much in it either way tbf.

Some lovely pops and crackles plus a little go of the launch control, I usually have the TC pushed once into sport mode but this is the first time I've had it completely off, it was savage!!! Seemed way more brutal off the line than even my stage 1 A45 AMG.

it takes 14 seconds from a standing start though for the BM to overtake so what speed would that be ?????

So in the REAL world - the RS3 would beat the M2 everytime.

and in the wet, well the BM would be left for dead.

Give me a safe 4 wheel drive car any day of the week over a tail happy rear wheel drive :yes:

So - I assume the '2018 Interior' video is of the 8V facelift, and not hopefully, of the 8V replacement scheduled for 2018..yes?
