Hi All

Picking up my S3 saloon next week, black edition. I quite fancy getting a set of silver mirror camps (OEM) so that I can mix it up a little bit and see what i prefer. I like the black stealth look, but I also think the silver mirrors are a signature S3 look. Are these readily available at a dealer? Anyone know the damage?

Thanks

£566 give or take a few pence!
Look out for used ones or find decent replicas, you could even buy some plain caps used and get a good quality satin alu wrap done.

Just wrap your black ones alu silver. £50 max for a decent job. Easily removed if you don't like em.

What colour is the car outta interest??

Wow that much from a dealer?? That's madness. I assume they're just sprayed caps anyway? Or are they actually aluminium?

Wrapping is a good idea. The eBay ones make me nervous simply because I don't know how close a replica they are. Anyone tried them.

Navarra explains the dilemma. It'll look awesome with either option.

I'd wait and see how you feel once it's here. If you've still got the urge then defo get them wrapped first. Unless of course money is no option, then just throw £600 at OE caps and swap em whenever you fancy.

The caps were aluminium on the 8L but the 8P and 8V ones are just painted.

I've got a pair of Euro Car Parts caps to go on my car once I get round to painting them gloss black. They are identical to the Audi ones and fit a treat. If you can get the paint code from Audi, it may be a better option to buy the ECP ones and get someone to spray them or if you're handy with rattle cans, you can DIY.

Dav, they're not painted - it's a very thin film coating (NOT a vinyl wrap).

That's a good shout Dav. I.might go down that route. Too steep to buy them OEM. Could get carbon ones for that. Thanks all

See if you can buy some plasti-dip silver spray!

Its a great way of seeing if something looks good in a different colour! ......if not ... peel it off

That also might be worth a shot
