Can not recode to "comfort" on my SW0270 RNSE at position 0xxx?xx

I am not able to code in the 7 at the 0xxx?xx position. Reference here

My objective was to have directory in the RNSE, but as of now the coding is stuck on 6 and directory will not show up on the rnse. Call log, history, numbers dialed, phone book all show up. However I can not get directory to show up because RNSE wont take the 7 I believe. I am able to manually enter names into the directory however when

When I press the sds button and say dial name, etc it says "phone book it not available" is not available.

Anyone have any ideas? Yes I have coded the 8P1 bluetooth module to comfort.

Currently I am only getting a small menu of SDS on the TEL. Nothing else on the RNSE works on SDS

s8Craig thanks much for your reply! Here is what I got going on. Yea SW0270 is supposed to be the latest North America SW (aka SW260) to support 2016 Maps DVD however SW0270 also supports VIM without any modules or VCDS coding. This RNSE is a retrofit and it is the way it came in the pail "pre hacked" It all seems to be working in that aspect. Yes the RNSE unit is actually a Euro unit with CD/TV button.



Yes I just learned yesterday that by pressing SDS and speaking "store name" I am able to populate the phone book for voice dialing. Now my voice dialing works as it should.

Can you confirm / deny a few rumors I have read on the internet?

1) SDS comes per-programmed on all euro units and SDS will work. US spec units need hack for SDS?
2) Microphone needs to be wired directly into RNSE for RNSE SDS functions to work? (Currently only TEL SDS functions are working for me)
3) Comfort coding of 0xxx7xx can only be done on euro units? (some cars refer to 7 as "decoding via faceplate", whatever that means)
4) Comfort coding of 0xxx7xx requires microphone to be plugged directly into RNSE?

OK very well. Next time I tear my dash apart I will have to re-wire or "add" mic wires to the RNSE. This confirms some stuff I have found on the web. I will assume I dont need to code to comfort. Thanks for your input s8craig. Its much appreciated!

So based on some pictures I took during my retorfit I see that I have the black and green wires running into Connector C at pins 6 and 12 for TEL NF IN (-) and TEL NF IN (+)

I am confused, do I want to remove these wires at this position and "jump it" from here..

Where he literally cut the microphone wires that originally went to the BT module first and then ran them thru the Head Unit first before going back to the BT module. So I will leave the cables plugged in where they are for 6&12 that come from the BT module. Yes, I have space at pins 10&4 and pin 1&7. Thanks for the clarification. This shouldnt be too hard...
