Hey guys I've got a strange noise coming from my engine when pulling away from junctions or at low revs I can't feel any vibration in the clutch pedal .
It's pretty loud when reversing , I did remove the under tray at the weekend so it could be that I've not fitted it correctly and it's vibrating.
I also replaced the aux tensioner and belt

I would check your engine mounts, including the front stabiliser. The exhaust downpipe is Another area of concern,

I've removed the engine cover and undertray checked most things in the engine bay nothing I can see is loose .
Il have the car up on a ramp at the weekend and give it a good service oil and filters
Best way I can describe the sound is when a car is about to stall it's worse when turning out of a junction or reversing

Hard to diagnose a noise when when I'm reading words if you know what I mean? It could be so many different things. I'd check all moving parts under the car is all I could advise to be honest.
Start the car when on ramps and have a mate go through the gears and steering, might see something not right

It's just so strange it started doing it all of a sudden
There is no vibration or rumble through the clutch pedal it light aswell to push down
I'm think a engine mount or Mabye the aux tensioner I didn't torque that up enough as you can barely get a spanner in there let alone a torque wrench

check alternator pulley they are clutched , if its gone it will do exactly what you say.

Il take the belt off the top tonight and see if it only goes one way , I've just realised i was thinking my a/c pulley has play in when actually it's my power steering pump the pulley has quiet a lot of play once the belt is removed

I had a small stone lodged in a gearbox mount that caused a bad vibration when moving off, particularly if accelerating hard. Not easy to find but a very simple fix and worth checking.

I took the top part of the aux belt off last night there is slight play in the pas pump pulley the altenator pulley spins freely isn't seized but I forgot to test the clutch system on it using a screw driver etc
The grimbly knocking noise is much louder when reversing slowly whilst turning at the same time
