So I'm going to swap out the LED in the boot for a brighter one but I can't figure out how to remove the old one.

Anyone know?

Usually things like that lever out from one side. If you look very closely can you not see a little tab in/behind the front part to slot a small screwdriver in?

I'll have a look but pretty sure there isn't anywhere to put a screwdriver on this one. The whole housing can be pressed inward but I'm afraid I'll break it if I push too hard.

Hmmm I'm unsure then. I guess it isn't mentioned in the owners manual bulb replacement section?

Nope, this isn't meant to be replaced because it's a LED chip in think :p

Found out the housing can be pushed inwards because they can be used to hold the false floor up.

One, on the right side.

Thanks :) Will do that then.

Hmmm so do S-Line and S3's have 2 (one on each side)...?
I don't know what's standard on the S3 but on my A3 (with S line exterior pack only) I had to pay extra to get a second light in the boot on the left side which I didn't :p

did this recently as i bought a replacement panel. i think from memory you need to take off the plastic trim at the front of the boot too. the part where the boot latch is. i think it slides right up but might have a couple of screws to hold it in. the rest of the side panel pops off with a bit of force and you can get access to the light from behind. it is held on with metal pins so don't worry about force. just bend them back in to place after. don't forget to take out the false boot floor and push seats forwards too! ;) the little black tether point trim bits are a nightmare!

Not sure what option has actually added it!
