just coding up my warning/puddle lamps and im wondering what ambient mirror illumination is? anyone know?

i think thats the light that you can get on the A6 where there is a LED under the wing mirrors and that lights up when you unlock the car light the coming home?

I can confirm what Ash187 said is correct. I had this on my Audi A6, the wing mirrors would light up with a small LED when you lock/un-lock the car, nice little feature.

But i thought ambient illumination would be a red glow light from the inner door handles and front dome light?

When we want to use the vanity mirrors from the front seats, we slide the little flap across to expose the mirror, and it lights up. Could this be what is called ''Ambient Mirror Illumination''?

no ambient illumination is red, i have those vanity mirrows and ambient illumination on my front dome lamp. just when i was coding up my warning/puddle lamps there was a option on vcds on the front door modules for ambient mirror illumination. i was just wondering if anyone knew what this was? all ambinet lighting is red as far as i know.

Are you sure it was ambient 'mirror' illumination?

Yep double checked eariler on today. you just add 2 to enable it.

Ambient lighting has nothing to with red light. It refers to low light/soft light illumination
