Facelift 8V Black Edition

Have you VTd a 5k mile PCP deal and gone over the mileage yet?

My current car is on 12k miles pa. Currently looking at changing cars though. Giving that I'm over 2½ years into my 4 year deal and with 27k on the clock they put me around £2000 in negative equity. If I'd taken a 5k mile deal would that make me better or worse off than at present?

Exactly the same. You would have more negative equity (since the difference between the GFV, which was based on you being on 5k miles, and the trade in value, which is lower given you have done more miles, is larger), but you would of been paying less per month.

So the lower monthly payments would roughly translate to the increase in negative equity?

No it would'nt make you better or worse off right now, your valuation of your car is based on the Model, condition, current mileage etc etc,who valued your car? go on to the Audi websites finance calculator.....you will see how to configure your deposit and monthly payments, the cheapest way is 48 months 5k miles, but come trade in time mileage on what you chose is irrelevant....

Example a £45,000 RS3 Sportback has a GMFV of £24k after 4 years
Example a £45,000 S3 Sportback has GMFV of £18k after 4 years
So its cheaper to go for a car that has a higher GMFV with some options, than loading up a lesser model with a lot of options

Yeah I play around with the finance calculator to workout what the price through Orangewheels and the likes will be.

It's my local Audi dealer valuing my car. I hit the VT point in around 5 months so think I'm better off waiting for that rather than paying off negative equity.

Go get a valuation elsewhere, your negative equity will be less,Autotrader do free valuations,l have only had my car 19 months and if l sell it now privately l aint in negative equity,if l trade it in roughly £1400 neg equity,Audi gave a valuation in March for my car 11k miles great condition £24k its worth £27k now with 17k on the clock.....dont trust Audi

Also try lots of dealers. My equity ranged from -£200 to +£2700....actually...that was the same dealer....! Amazing what a stern 'don't play me for a mug' talk can do, ey!

Yeah, I figured that. Newcastle Audi gave me a monthly payment on an A6 Black Edition basing it on £2000 negative equity. But then wouldn't give me the purchase price of the A6.

Might ask for an A3 BE quote tomorrow from them.

Yea it's really difficult to get them to separate the trade in and the discount. Now I don't even mention a trade in until I have nailed them on what my discount saving is.

To be honest, you will likely get a better/similar trade in with the WBAC lot, so many get as well get a good idea using those sites, ring up your finance to get settlement figure, and then use that as a deposit amount instead.

Afterwards tell them about the trade in and see if you can get them close to the figure you had in mind.

I've emailed a couple of the brokers on the BE, there all waiting for the option + colour spec data to be released from CAP, so you can configure the BE on there sites. Hopefully soon.

Just ordered a FL S3 Sportback Black Edition from Huddersfield Audi where they told me I couldn't spec Nogaro Blue (or any Exclusive Colour option) as Audi are not offering anything but standard colours on the S3 at the moment and for the foreseeable future, so gone for Glacier White with red brake calipers. Anyone know anything about the exclusive paint issue? And are the super sport seats worth investing in over the standard seats? Cheers.

Super sports seats are pretty much the same as normal but look pretty and have 4 way lumbar support built in. Don't offer any more support which is a shame.

Love the colour coded Daytona key case But £30 justifiable?!

Yes! I bought the silver one which is more neutral for me. Occasionally leave it on my desk at work and it gets a few admiring glances! :D

Totally different density foam, totally different upper body contouring

This old chestnut has been squashed a while back

Do you guys get Audi personalised pen when you get the car ?

Wife was a little peeved that Audi put my initials on it :)

I certainly didn't get a pen, never mind one with my initials on it!

Are you all getting better deal from brand new cards or better off going for a used audi with a few miles on it.

I'm back to the drawing board regarding a new car, had a deal on the table to buy a new s5 but not completely convinced anymore about the looks of the car…in some ways prefer my PFL S3 as I think its a bit more sporty.
The black pack looks good…would you guys spec it on a 3 door panther black FL S3 or stick with the chrome?…I'd spec optional 19's and maybe get chrome mirrors fitted.

Not a fan of the black pack on a black car. Think it needs to stand out abit.

New S5 has a longer shelf life and in my opinion its a far better looking car than a S3...especially a 3 door, the Black Styling Addenda should makes its debut soon on the S5....like in the S4
