Hi,I have got some 18" Wheels for my S3.Should I put spacer on? Will it make much difference?

Not sure what of difference you are expecting but really depends on what you are trying to do...

Size of spacer depends on wheel width and offset too so more info needed really to be able to answer your question.

People generally fit spacers for three reasons... to improve the stance of the car, to help clear the front brake calipers on certain styles of wheel or to allow fitment of wheels with a different PCD...

what <tuffty/> said.

Check the back of the wheels for an ET value. The stock wheels of the S3 have 32mm ET.
The difference between these two can give you an idea if you need spacers.

Cheers.I think just for the stance really! New to all this being a middle aged man trying to re-live my youth... I have got the TT 18" 9 spokes to put on it

Genuine RSTT wheels are ET33

I have these and use 15mm spacers on the rear, 10mm on the front... the result is this...

Another stupid question! Do you need longer wheel bolts?

If you add that much I don't think your standard bolts will be up to the task. So yes.
For reference. With standard bolts and wheels my bolt just poke through the hub carrier.

Yes but these will generally come with the spacers. If you need any info or prices just let me know.

Forge 16mm with the bolts - £57.70 delivered

They will look ridiculous in fairness lol...

Had an S3 parked next to mine once on std suspension and RSTT's.... not a good look... rears in particular look lost in the arches...

<tuffty/>

How come they are a lot cheaper?

Man in a shed vs larger company, cheaper base materials, less margin, realistic pricing vs market driven pricing, umpa lumpas as the work force... take your pick :)

...looking at the three (H&R, Forge, eBay)... H&R/Forge are multi drilled (5x100/5x112) and anodised where the eBay ones are single PCD (less machining) and no mention of being anodised... there fore cheaper to produce... by umpa lumpa's :)

And cheap is all I am looking for if I get some!

Cheap isn't always better especially when its a fairly critical component that is part of holding the wheel on the car...

These do look ok tbh but watch the bolt lengths as you will need to have the right length... some bolts may need to be shortened, depends what they supply...

Also be aware that any locking bolt setup you are using will need to be replaced as the bolts won't be long enough... make sure you get the right bolt type for your wheels... OE are radial seat, aftermarket/copies etc are generally taper seat.

I think I would prefer them anodised to protect against corrosion... salt can be quite corrosive... do NOT paint them though that will not end well

Thanks for the advice.I will keep it in mind

After i placed my order they messaged me:

"Hi,
Thanks for your order. Do you need taper or radius head bolts? If you are unsure, please advise whether you are fitting original or aftermarket wheels.
Thanks
Jenny"

Obviously i compared the bolts to the ones i was taking off and the head was the same, only the bolt was 15mm longer :)

Here is what happens if you dont use the right bolts!

So they sound like a proper company?! Did you fit locking blots?

I use these on the rear of mine with the RSTT's (multifit)
25mm, anodised and seem okay appart from being very light compared to my H&R ones on the front. The plus side to using this type of spacer is that you retain your original bolts and locking wheel bolt.

and H&R 20mm hubcentric on the front

Does anybody have pictures with 18's and no spacers on? I am struggling to get 10mm and 15mm at a descent price and knowing me I will end up selling them before long

Yeah...

Doesn't look quite so bad if you're at stock height but...yeah. I'm back on RSTTs for the winter (no spacers) and the difference in look from CHs which sit about 9mm further out is dramatic :(
