Facelift Just had a disaster with bleach!

Yup as the title says. Just had a bleach spill inside my car. On the carpet in the backseat footwell

Caught it quick enough i hope with white vinegar and water so fingers crossed it doesnt bleach the colour out. Just have to put up with a car smelling of vinegar for a while

Im hoping i caught it quick enough :sadlike:

Only time will tell i suppose. Dreading going back out to check on it. Will wait for a few hours before i go back out. It hadnt stained it at all before i washed it off so hopefully it will be ok

Yeah i have mats but it soaked right through to the carpet.

Hopefully i wont have anything to take pics of lol

You'll probably be fine. The carpets are man made fibre, and quite likely to be resistant against bleach and other chemicals.

My guess? Shopping. It's (usually) far less likely to get broken / spill out of the bags in a rear footwell than in the boot...

I usually do put stuff in the boot but i already had stuff in it from doing my xmas shopping earlier in the day so it would have been alot worse if it was in there as alot my my shopping was clothes

Ah ok, well at least it could've turned out worse than it has. These things do come with safety caps so must be a crap design to leak!

When i inspected it later it looks like it hadnt been put on correctly in the first place.

In the past I've seen one of the mobile interiour trim repairers rectify a stained carpet with a can of black spray (if the worst comes to the worst).

The baggage hooks in the Sportback are a joke! I used to use them all the time in my A4 saloon but these new ones are too small and too flimsy

Edit - obviously the carpet was supposed to be black, don't use a rattle can of black if they're supposed to be grey or beige!!!!.
