Ok that's good to know.
Do you have a VIN number too? Right at the bottom of the text.

Yes I do. Not sure where your car is being shipped too but there is a boat to Tyne today so hoping my car is on that

I'll keep my fingers crossed that mine also ends up on that boat to Tyne today.....

If you don't mind me asking, whats the name of the vessel heading for Tyne? Had a look on Marine Traffic and can't see any car transporters expected to arrive in Tyne directly from Germany or depart for Tyne shortly (though the City of Rome is due in Tyne, having sailed via Grimsby).

{"orderStatus":"39","statusDate":"2016-11-29T01:15:05+0000"} Status changed this morning and it's now on its way to the UK.

Hopefully everyone else that is at the port waiting for the boat to Tyne gets the same good news today as well!

@Grubb how long was yours in QC?

Cheers.
It was less than a week. But my tracker and email notification have been all over the place. It shows it left the factory the same day as in the panel shop.So it could be in UK as it's the same '30' date as Brasso.
I wish I didnt know about the tracker.........

I noticed an anomaly on the dates too. The ones with no times are just automated and don't actually seem to relate to anything.

The line higher up showing order status seems to actually indicate what stage the car is at. I had 24 unlocked but it was still showing 20 above. It then went to 30 and I started getting time stamps against the stages again.

I just wish I could get hold of my sales guy, he's not responding to emails or returning my calls...

Perhaps he's driving around in your car? ;-)

Hi everyone, my name is Sam, I have an all new S5 on order that was build scheduled for week 47 and is now showing status 30.
I have been following this thread because I didn't find a similar one for the S5!

@Brasso - I am suspicious as well. Here's why:
1) My dealer has told me that his system does not show the interim stages - 21-24. It goes from 20 to 30
2) The yourAudi tracker is managed by Audi UK, so they probably see the same thing on their screen as the dealer
3) Audi Customer Services have been giving conflicting updates when the tracker wasn't working - two days after the tracker was showing 22, Audi CS told me in was in fact status 20!?
4) I had a week 47, and my statuses 21-24 were unlocked on the same day as everyone else's on this thread with a build week 47
5) The time stamps appear as 00:00:00, and that everyone with a given confirmed weeks shows exactly the same time-steps.

This leads me to believe that the status updates 21-24 are synthetic and only introduced to satisfy the customers nosiness, as opposed to factory issued updates.

This suspicion is accentuated by the rather arbitrary number of days that cars spend in Quality Control. Mine spent 8, some people's cars spent 2 days, while others 3 weeks.
I am starting to believe that when a car spends a lot of time in "QC", it has probably not been built. Either because of a delay, or RHD model pooling, ...

To summarize, I think that @Brasso is right in saying that we should be guided by the first line in the status, and I will add that 21-24 is probably just marketing, as opposed to real status updates.

But I could be completely wrong.

Call from my dealer today confirming build starts on Monday and everything is looking good for an anticipated mid January arrival. He asked when I want to take delivery - straight away or 1st March.... now I'm in a quandary! I yearn for 3.0l V6 under my bum but the sensible head says wait the 5-6 weeks and get the 17 plate. Any advice guys??

Don't bother waiting. Plate impact on residuals is minimal these days and it also keeps your shiny motor out of the dealers hands and into yours as soon as possible :) We've got the same build week and I've already booked the detailer for January to get the car looking like it should (and with some decent protection from our wonderful British winter...).

Plus it'll be sitting out in the open getting all kinds of muck on it and none of your tlc...

My dealer was ambivalent about it and said I could have it whenever I wanted. It's going on a private 65 plate anyway so makes little difference I suppose- will still be registered in 2017 and with a car like ours the residuals will be more flatline than other models I suspect.

RRB - what you getting done?

I'm going to collect mine as soon as it's available. Not fussed on the residuals as it'll make little or no difference when I come to move on in a few years time.

I'm hoping to pick mine up next week.

That was really not my intention! :sadlike::sadlike:

Quite the opposite in fact - I found the thought of my car build being slightly delayed a lot more comforting than the one of something being wrong with it, and it needing to spend ages in QC

In practice the tracker will be accurate most of the time, but in the occasions when a car appears to be in QC for two weeks, chances are it hasn't, and nothing is wrong with it :friendly wink:

And once again, this is just a suspicion, and could be completely wrong!

Bah!

There's no tone conveyed in communication like this. I was of course, not being serious about this.:rockwoot: It's all gravy guys. I've gone from not being bothered about build times to reluctantly getting über excited and back to forcing patience on myself haha. In truth, Christmas is upon us and I'll be shelling out a tonne of money if delivered before. What will be, will be. It's just entertaining being part of the forum knowing that others are riding the same S4 wave :grinning:

I'm right with you on that one Thundercliffe. I keep checking yourAudi twice a day (morning and evening) and had an initial worry regarding Sam's post but it seems mostly just guess work. So while we're waiting a new terrible thought occurred to me: delivery mileage. Will it be minimal because the cars are on transports or hundreds of miles as some greasy delivery guy drives it from the port to the dealer in less than immaculate driving style? To be fair, the three other Audis I've had were all very low, but all this waiting makes my mind wonder :)

Your Audi only updates once a day so trust me...once is enough to check haha. Don't add to the stress.

My B8.5 was very low mileage. About 13 I think.

Pedant alert: a ship is moored, not parked ;)

Edit: unless this is Master Mariner humour in which case I'll shut up :)

To be really pedantic you have to berth (park) it before you can moor it! ;)

I've had the pleasure of parking a fair number of ships in my time.

Double pedant alert: Technically the vessel will be docked to unload cargo. It may then be moored later.

Not at all, I enjoy days when I learn something new.

I'm still sat at Preparation, we had the same build date, so I'm guessing yours is too?

Yep. Looking at everyone else I suspect we might hit panel shop tomorrow then paint shop and assembly in relatively short order next week as our build week. Or they'll all be next week one day after the other.

Wish I'd never heard of yourAudi...:)
