Nothing illegal about short plates so long as you allow 10mm from the first and last letter.

I might be turning into an old fart, but these mods seem a bit 'go faster stripes' to me. The small plates, especially on the front where there's a backing plate original size look odd. The sline callipers look wrong. A plain red/blue/yellow paint would look better.

I realise what people say about the short plate on the front. After fitting I wasn't sure if a full size plate would look better but on reflection, the shorter plate looks better in the 'metal'. The rear plate makes the car look wider and meaner.
The caliper suits the decals as they are R8 calipers and the flat part is specifically designed for the decals.

Completely agree- I personally wouldn't do any of these 3 adjustments to my own A4, I think they all "cheapen" the prestige of the car.
