what are people's experiences with different companies dsg tunes? I'm thinking about getting it done but don't know which to go for. Anyone got any suggestions?

Do you have a remap ?

I would say generally go for the same companies TCU tune as per the remap you have. In my mind they will have been developed together and work in harmony with one another.

My Revo TCU tune has been on a couple of weeks now and the improvements in gear change timing and smoothness is night and day.

I'm running a dtuk box. Think I'll have any problems finding a company that will map it as I dont have their ecu map?

I don't think you'll have problems having a TCU tune put on and spending the £££ but to me it sounds a bit counter intuitive if having the box fitted is primarily as a warrranty friendly option as soon as you put a TCU tune on it then you'll have warranty issues should anything go wrong with your transmission.

I've got the box as I've had it from my A5 before the s3. I know it would void any warranty so it's no problem having the ecu mapped at the same time. I'm just being cheap and trying to save 100quid or so

Gotcha !! ;o)

A lot of tuners offer a discount if you buy the ECU & TCU tunes at the same time - may then be able to sell the box on ?

That's probably the route I'll go. Probably hold on to the box for the next car I get. I've been in touch with midlands vw and they told me revo dsg remap isn't out yet

It's not on the REVO website @Rob2k68 i looked just before coming on here...
How's yours then?

You're right mate - neither is their intercooler. It's in existence but not officially launched for one reason or another. Think with the I/C its always sold through the dealer network before enough stock exists to officially lunch - I know that's not the case with software but guess they're very busy I'd drop them a line.

I'll do a bit of a review once I've done some more miles but it's met all my expectations so far much smoother and better timed changes - not tried S or E modes yet but no more annoying kickdown in M and I've not had the annoying delay at junctions where you can loose drive for a second (very annoying!). Also clamping pressure is increased on the clutch plates in order to handle any extra torque I guess ready for stage 3 but certainly of benefit also to stages 1 and 2.

They're at the VAG Tuner Expo at Donnington on Sunday too.

I've spoke to someone at a revo dealer and they said the dsg tune is coming very shortly. Out of interest. How does the revo ecu map perform?

The engine remap is spot on... although I'm sure others will have their own opinions
