6:30 start at work to let one of the service advisors into the building, took advantage of the illuminated, under cover valet bay and gave the A4 a quick wash. Carpro products still holding on well, it's due a clay, coat of black hole and a couple of coats of reload before the winter fully sets in.

The car looks to be in very good company too! ;)

Yeah it gets nice chats with Italian and German machines here.

I work at a main dealers parts Dept, we do three franchises (Bentley, Ferrari and Maserati) and the site has the Porsche parts and workshop on it too.

It's a terrible place to work, it is I promise ;)

Fitted rain try cover/battery cover and fitted replacement Audi rings badge on engine cover as mine had gone walkies. Gave the engine bay a bit of a clean and some Autoglym protection too, came up very nicely!

So on Monday morning my coolant light came on at 5am.. I took torch and pooped the bonnet to find BLACK coolant.. level looked okay though.. and I haven't checked the coolant in about 12 months so thought maybe its time for a flush and a fresh.

That evening checked it again and OMG the coolant was OIL!

The oil had separated on top of the coolant so I managed to drain it all out and top the coolant up to see if the problem carried on.. 1 day later just a small amount about the size of a 2p in the top.. 1 day later another litre of oil in the coolant! ****!

I'very dine some research and it appears to be one of three things..

1. Cracked block
2. Cracked head
3. Head gasket
4. Failed oil cooler

I have had no usual signs of any of the above and the car still pulls like a train.

I have been and fitted a brand new oil cooler and flushed the coolant system many many times.

Tomorrow I'm going to flush it again and then take her on a long drive.. fingers crossed it solves it.. otherwise I'll be looking for a replacement car and breaking this one.

Wish me luck!

Anyone going to cars and coffee tomorrow?

I had this when I bought my car but then it vanished! So do enlighten us please Dimitar

I thought they did this as standard?

If it then I've done something along the line and turned it off.
Also the location name comes on every now and then when it feels like it.

I never touched anything I the VCDS so can't work where mine went? More recently I went to VCDS user and he said there was no communication of canbus on the RNSE. Mine is the MK1 and also know it was retrofitted by the previous owner.

Even the location comes on the DIS from time to time when it feels like it so I can't think it being a broken wire somewhere?

this is my rns-e unit, and its a real heads up display aswell..haha, and never lets me down.

You'll find that it uses K-Line and not Canbus on the B7's as I found out when coding my RNS-E MkII & OEM BT Module

Thanks Guys, I'm having my C/H L /H lights activated next Saturday.
Carl which section do I ask him to check in the VCDS regarding the RNSE to make sure all is set up correctly?
Rob, with that map you're going places!!!

Tough day today
Got some parts but as always not all that glitters is gold.

Got a set of xenon that had been Joey'd and a RS4 genuine grill

All went well until testing.

It would seem previous owner ran resistors in the NS light, which has made a mess inside of wiring (melted)

Lots of circuit testing and coding and luckily it will only cost about £10 to sort out but another couple of hours messing about

Early shots as I need to get my gaps perefect but here you go

A4 Genuine BI Xenons
Genuine A4 B7 Grill
Fog lamp intakes Meshed with genuine RS4 mesh

Will get some better day pics

evening,

parts turned up today for the egr and anti shudder delete, sooo.....

get this on and the rest of the bits to go with it, when i've got the time and then off for a map

be keen to see what the car will be like mapped with my miltek and decat, no egr, no anti shudder valve, not sure if it'll make that much difference to be honest, (from a standard 140 with a map) but we shall see....

Nothing really......just grinning as the two delivery men with my new roller cab and top box commented on how great the Avant looks. Made my day after having it delivered @ 6:45 this morning :tired:
