What have you done to your 8V today?

Am I the only one that likes to keep the engine in dynamic mode...
After having owned a 6 cylinder car with severe drinking problems for many years, feel like these Audi 4 cyls are fuel savers... :)

I stick it in dynamic mode when going down a country lane or when running late then I'll have it in my individual setting with comfort steering but dynamic engine

Used Showroom Shine for years. Although of late I've moved onto Williams Waterless Wash. SRS is better but more expensive. Leaves a great glass like feel to your paintwork. I've used it on a minging car before and it works very well. I use a damp MF instead of a dry one if it's really dirty. Lifts the c4ap of easier. Look out for the deals online with the SRS. You can get 3 bottles for £26 from time to time.

Yeah I picked up 2 bottles for 25 quid off ebay.

These detailing snobs dunno what they're missing.........lol

Today I managed to extract the entire B&O wiring from the second hand wiring loom I got off the internet.

Here's what B&O consists of -
2016 10 10 214556

And here's what is left after the extraction -
2016 10 10 214208

I'm considering doing a definitive B&O retrofit threat, would people find that useful? It's not a job for the faint hearted but it is perfectly achievable with the info I have accrued.

Cheers David.

I am sure it would be useful as a thread, go for it, but I am sure that amount of wire would be more of a threat to some, I struggle untangling my iPhone headphones :)

At the last service Audi lost the locating grommet

They are sending a replacement but I found it in the engine bay yesterday

It's different from the other three as it slots in and is designed as a locating mount

Learnt how to make use of it from an independent. Audi clearly had no idea

Edit - also learnt the hard way from my R (whose engine cover was a lot harder to remove) that a light coating of heatproof grease helps

You did well to find that mate - needle in a haystack springs to mind !!

My parts supremo did say that he gets asked for a fair few of these so must be fairly common.

Anyone else needing these part numbers are :-

S06J103226A CONNECTOR (for the tree black ones)
V07C 103 226 B CONNECTOR (for the grey locator one, front left as you stand at the front of the car facing the engine).

Took a while but suspected they had dropped it in there somewhere so persevered.

Was lodged in against the alternator.

Wonder what would have happened if it had got caught up in the belts ???

Drove 300 km before I found it.

Edit - spare from Audi just arrived

Her fiancée is American but passes my standards (after a few single malts)

Regarding the two amigos, I'm expecting a running commentary with images ;)

Could have been much worse indeed!

I had a split second of time where I could slam on the anchors, which caused it to hit the front right of the car instead of coming straight up over the bonnet!

Darn thing jumped a wall and pretty much landed on my car!
No chance I was dodging that thing.

I've only 3 years no claims, will be losing 2 of those if I go down the insurance route.
Also £850 excess!

Very well may be cheaper to just go and pay for the repair myself, so going to get some quotes at local bodyshops.

Im about Yellowstuff or Ferodo DS2500.

Had DS2500 on my Clio Tropy and they were excellent. Was torn between red or yellow but went red in the end for less dust and I'm thinking also longer life of the disc as there really a pad for fast road rather than track :-

These came , was extremely lazy and went with the credit card trick to remove the old ones. Snapped one clip on the existing chrome covers, oops! Did it on my lunch break. Must learn to not be like a kid at Christmas with new car things!!
