Hi I'm looking for someone who can gut an Audi A5 2.7tdi v6 dpf for me.

Best to look in the Site Sponsor forum for VAG specialists and have a look at their own websites. Also ask on the A5 forum as you have posted this on the A3/S3 pages.

Not easy on that engine as you need to move the engine slightly to get the DPF out in the first place.

As above, where about's are YOU based ? Can YOU drive The car to N. London ?

I'm in Leeds Yorkshire

Been quoted £150 to get it done in Leeds, just seeing if anyone can do it cheaper

TBH I can't imagine you will get it done much cheaper than that. They are not that straightforward to get out compared to some DPF's and it's not a 5 minute job to cut it open, gut it and weld it back up.

Bite his hands off, on the a5 the Dpf is a massive size and as instructed above it needs the engine tilting forward in order to remove. Also welding neatly is not cheap...

Yeah seemed like a good quote! Thanks

Maybe they don't realise it's a bit more involved than the usual 4 cyl DPFs? Check that they don't try and do the welding in situ.

They said they've done plenty of these, it's a remapping company.

I have seen a few dodgy Dpf delete where they cut it with a grinder at the top and hoovered the bits out of it however there are always few bits left inside that will rattle and drive you mad ! If a mot tester will see that it's been tampered with then it we fail the car then and there !

I think what they quoted you was just to turn the light off, to remove the DPF it's going to be extra ! However if they do the work and the delete it in the map for that much I will give them loads of work !

They quoted £150 for physically removing the dpf

Then £160 for remapping and dpf delete etc

So £310 all in, which is the standard rate as I've asked few people.

Limitless remaps Halifax
Renegade remaps Bradford

Are one of the companies I've asked

We'd be at £650 on that job, it's a full days work to do nicely including before and after Dyno printouts and genuine custom tune.

Rick
That's the going rate ! Funnily, I had a customer once with a a3 tdi Quattro which had one of your tunes and Dpf delete and claimed you took it off in 30 min ! I said no way, I still think he was pulling my leg ! Also the job wasn't a particularly

EMP performance are saying 550. Which included a Custom made downpipe, so if I was spending that sort of money I'd rather get a down pipe. Or even order one from RM customs, which is £180 and won't cost more than £100 labour as I've inquired around from 5 garages locally Leeds based. £150 for remap from limitless remaps who are based in Halifax. And have outstanding reviews, and don't use crappy generic maps, So works out cheaper if I get it done like that. But thanks for the quote.

Well Adam if you don't believe me, ring limitless remaps or renegade remaps and they will tell you. Cheers

Does the engine need to be moved in order to get dpf out?
You seem like the most knowledgeable person on this subject. And from your posts.

Generic maps are not necessarily crappy. It has now become fashionable for every remapping company to say they offer custom maps, and it is in 95% of cases rubbish. In order for it be custom, what are they using for feedback? This is the first stumbling block.

Our calibration/map price is £400 for this engine with with DPF removed. It requires a a good few hours of calibration time to get everything inline.

Yep, seen many "custom maps" which are not more than a genetic map with a bumped up drivers wish and some random values... As Rick commented there, to do a proper custom map you need to take logs, loads of them and when you introduce different turbos, larger maf housings, larger MAF's, larger injectors, larger intercoolers then most of the source code needs "massaging" in order to get the recipe work at it's best ! Also the tuner needs to be experienced to adjust turbos actuator and stop screw as the electronic tweaking is the last resort ! It's the experience that you want and it's hard to put a price on that ! In this day and age people only care about price and value for money, very few pay for quality !
