Apologies if this has been posted before:

No fair, not available on 2.0TDI A3's yet it is on a GT TDI Golf...

probably find that they are the same one used in both variants

I think it will improve skills of S3 :), have someone already ordered it??

not yet. If I was keeping it long term I may consider it.

Does anyone actually think they need it???? Genuine question btw

I think it could be better option than instaling Haldex adapter, for faster driving. I am curious about how it will go with haldex... Have to wait till someone will buy it.

Quaife + Haldex controller + remap should get S3 closer to Evo abillities.
What about ESP, becouse I found funny thing when driving with ESP off. Sometimes at a sharp turn when I use handbrake just to put my car sideways and then accelerate to finish with a nice drift, just after using hand brake my car feels like ESP is still working and brakes stop my car.
Can someone tell my why this happen, becouse I'd be very happy with turning this s**t off :). Is it ESP or EDS alone does it?

On computer there is ESP of, but in practis it is still working but in smaller level. I know that you can turn of ABS by moving out fuse, but friend told me that moving ESP fuse, could automaticly disabled haldex.

Even If you put to S3 LSD, Haldex controler and ohter stuff it will never be close to Evo. I had evo 9 made for 360hp, AYC and ACD are amazing. For everyday driving S3 with small mods is the best.

Czesc.

You shouldn't need to use the handbrake to get the back end out man. Plenty of lock and ooddles of power should suffice

Welcome to the club Wolfevo!
You´ve just come in contact with the EDS.
On ALL other Audis you can deactivate EDS, but not on the S3 8P.
I test drove the TT 2.0T and by keeping the ESP button held down for more than 5 secs you disable both ESP/ASR and EDS.

I actually think that this so called "feature" is what sucks absolutely most about the S3.
You can´t drift it! - not even when it´s raining like hell!

But, if you buy a A3 2.0T, then you can fully deactivate the EDS.

My S3 is at a workshop now for a 12k service. I will talk to them and see if they can modify this via VAGCOM.

You car have a different factory setup than the S3.
You can fully disable EDS by holding the ESP button for 5 secs, which we can´t
Have fun during the winter!.. I won´t.

The Torsen (TORque SENsing) diff - available from Quaife or Peloquin's in the US - profoundly upgrades the awd 8P chassis.

Accelerating mid-turn the front outer wheel receives more engine torque, pushing the nose into the turn.

Combined with the more aggressive HPP, the torsen really helps lay power down. I had mine installed at the smae time I had the turbo done, and I can't imagine how I could have gone on without.

It is a very, very nice upgrade. If you are curious as to how it feels, and can travel to Paris, let me know: we'll go for a (non)spin.

That may be so but I don't need to disable the ESP to get a bit of a slide.

Yesterday I test drove my S3 on snow/ice conditions. First thing is that I'm going for sure to instal haldex controler, becouse I feel that sometimes haldex doesn't give so much power to the rear wheels that it should. Second thing I noticed is when U are driveing from slide to slide with ESP off everything works just fine until U press the brake. Then ESP comes to action and stabilize the car. So I keep waiting for some company to release proper software or something similar. For me S3 is a very good car, an everyday driving is just perfect, but I'd like it when I press the ESP button to TURN OFF all the nacessary systems that spoil the fun. It's not just concerned with safe diving. I feel that I might crash becouse off a stupid system that did something to my car that I didn't want it to do.

Sorry for the OT but yesterday I also test drove S3 on a road where I did it with my previous cars. At some specyfic point I mesure the speed of my car from a standing start. And S3 is reallly fast :) On a Civic Type R i had aprox 194 km/h. With A8 4.0 tdi was pretty the same, but S3 did 220km/h :) I didn't suspect it to be so much quicker. :)
Yes. It doesn't feel so quick that it is actually.

hi
I am ready to buy a quaife LSD for a s3 400 hp.
I had it in other cars in the past but never in a car with haldex.
I read the above but have not drawn the conclusion !
makes the car more fun ???

thanks

Improves traction quite markedly.

It's way more noticeable than a Haldex controller and I felt it was a really worthwhile addition.

I may have one for sale shortly as I'm moving to a DSG setup on my car.

S3Alex, your car is manual?

what price you will sell the quaife?

Yes manual.

I'd do that on the correct page of the forum,as soon as the gearbox transplant is completed.....what I wouldn't want to do is to make anyone wait unduly if my guys are having problems installing everything.

It's a torque biassing limited slip diff.

The front diff on your car, like mine originally was,is a conventional open diff and traction can be limited at high power and torque.

Audis TC software works by simply applying braking to the wheel that's spinning which is intrusive and not terribly effective.

I found this diff worked well with the torque on my car and aided traction a lot.

Would this be able to go on my car then

You need to check with Quaife if it would fit or not.....there are quite a few variants.
