James' B8 A4

Hi James,

Just spotted this thread and realised you were at the Helicopter Museum on Sunday, parked right next to me!

I didn't realise you were a forum member but I had to rush off, wanted to chat about your sweet looking A4. Anyways, here are a couple of pics of my filthy Avant next to your clean white car!

I know I don't like the screws just didn't want to take the risk of them falling off
I know it's a tricky one. I've just stuck mine on hoped for the best.

Front and rear my plates on mine are double sided taped, same on my a3 when I had it never fell off and I had them on for over a year, I just put plenty on an it seems to be holding up at the moment

Yeah
it's stuck down with double sided tape as well just wasn't sure how strong it would be

@James.B8 when you purchased your springs did you have any additional charges ? Just checked the tracking and it says that it has been examined by HM Customs and charges may have been raised by them. A letter will be sent if chares are due ?

Get down Sunday morning to Queens square there will be plenty to see mate.

I can't remember if I'm honest. If I did I don't think it was too much. Maybe £20 but honestly can't remember sorry

No updates just a few pictures of the car.

Car was covered in bird poo after about 5 minutes of being parked under the tree down my road so I have given it a quick blast and wash today to get it looking clean again...

Love this snow foam! So thick.

It's the autobrite snow foam. Think it might be the magifoam stuff. It's orange. I got their lance attachment as well. Comes out great with adjustable spray and thickness.

Hi whats the mileage on your car? are you still on the original clutch? the reason i ask is i have the same car, the guy who usually maps my car said the clutches are crap and he would only mild tune it on the remap, around 170- 175bhp, have you heard of anyone having issues with the clutch after remap?

Hi I've just hit 80,000 on the car. Yeah it's the original clutch as far as I know. Not had a problem with the car at all really. Had a wheel bearing replaced a few thousand miles back and I had a slight judder when pulling away but that's since disappeared. I think if you just go for a stage 1 map like myself you should be okay. Any more powerful then you might need to consider a new clutch. Since my map/dpf/egr delete I've had no problems what so ever and the car drives much better. Hope this helps.

Mines has only done 39000miles so hopefully there should be plenty left in the clutch, my first diesel, im used to the petrol turbos
Yeah I would go for it if I were you. Just make sure you get someone who knows what they're doing

My car for today...

Felt huge getting into it from the A4. Nice driving an automatic for once. Did find the s tronic quiet jumpy though.

Changed to black rings today. Not sure I prefer it to be honest but the chrome rings where old and worn with broken tabs.

Stealth look ftw.

Can understand what you are saying James, but I've gone for the white and black look so to complete it imo they all need doing. I personally like mine.

Yeah suppose it is more stealthy. Be even more so once the wraps removed that's if it's removed before I sell it. Still on the hunt for a replacement. I for some reason think the black badges on the grill look better and more aggressive on the FL like yours with the extra angles on the grill.

Time for an even more stealthy look...

Starting to arrange my wrap removal ready for selling. So back to black. Not sure how it will look completely black. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Already removed a part of the wrap on the fuel cap to see how it comes out.

All booked in for next Friday! Nervous and excited at the same time! Just praying for the paint underneath. They seem confident though. Booking it in for a detail straight after as well

Think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the way it looks after the wrap is removed.
