Hi guys.

Have been contemplating getting my car wrapped. I was thinking a matte grey or standard gloss navy blue but was hoping to get a few questions answered before I go ahead with it.

So what I want to know is, 1. Does the vinyl scratch/scuff easily? 2. How do you or can you Polish the vinyl? 3. Does it start to lift at the edges etc if dust or dirt gets between the body and the wrap?

4. What's the average cost for a full wrap on an audi a3 3door.

Cheers guys

Hi.

Mmmmmm mat grey is nice as is nardo grey

I think wrap has come a long way, no car is resistant to scuffs or scratches this would be down to you looking after it i think although it would scuff or scratch atleast it wouldn't be the paint underneath getting the scratch so you could get the section re wrapped again . Again I think if your jet washing the edges it would lift and I've been told wrap can be washed pretty much as you would normally was a car.

I contemplated getting it done on my last car but ended up selling it before I got it done.i guess it all depends on the bodywork condition to start with and the prep work and working environment and skill of the company doing it.

You could pop in to the local wrappers to see some cars they have done. My local 3m wrapper have all there own cars wrapped and they have lots in and out to see.

Price I'm Guessing £1100 for a wrap I was quoted £1300 for the q5

I hope this helps

Well that's the thing.... I work for a company that has a signage department. I do maybe 6-7 vehicles a month, although the vehicles are all commercial vans etc I've got extremely good at what I do. I've done a few half wraps on vans but I think I really want to try out a full colour chance on my car.

My main question was really just the upkeep of the wrap. I plan to start it hopefully end of September. I will post before and after pics.

Cheers guys

Ah it should be a doddle for you if you just take it slow one panel at a time it might look a bit multi coloured for a week or so but sounds like your in the know already. You tube should be a good place to learn some techniques as scottyg above has posted already.

Good luck and can't wait to see the transformation

On my previous car (Range Rover Evoque) I had the roof and various other areas wrapped gloss black by reforma in Bradford. They do a lot of high end stuff and did a first class job of mine, in fact other Evoque owners saw mine and also used them. I sold my car after 3 years and the wrap still looked immaculate, in fact the dealers couldn't believe the quality of the wrap. So go for it, but it does pay to get it done professionally.
