Looked under my car this morning and it looked like the undertray/belly pan was missing. It has a small one at the front under the radiator but nothing under the sump area. Audi said that the tfsi don't have one, just the small front one and it's only the diesels that have the full cover with sound insulation due to the louder engine and that the petrols run hotter.

Is that right? Seems strange that the petrol ones have nothing to protect the sump etc....

Mmm. Interesting that as mine doesnt have one and just assumed it had been taken off by previous owner, although my previous car (fsi non turbo) did have one.

I thought exactly the same. It's looks like it should have one as there is a lip around the front cover but if what I'm being told by audi is correct then the front one is the same across all engine variants.

I have a cover on my S3 that joins to that little cover at the front in like a jigsaw style fashion so to speak and go back to the arches, I'm in the process of reassembling my car so I'll take some photos for you tomorrow

The larger piece is whats missing off my car and was fitted on my fsi, pretty sure the tfsi should have one.

That's exactly what I have on mine. Just thought there was another larger cover that fits in the "U" part covering the sump and attaches to the sub frame. Must be how it's supposed to be.

Hi guys my 2006 A3 2.0Tfsi has one Andy F

Sorry S11M just been under mine and it looks like yours , Audi must be right had mine from new Andy F

Tray on mine as well, some peeps can't be bothered fitting them on properly and they eventually drop off. I often see all sorts of cars with the undertray flapping around while driving. As far as I know all VAG cars have them from new.

Has anyone taken off there bumper? Can't find where those two plastic blocks about 6" long in the photo go?
