Hi folks well Audi or someone manage to kerb my 19inch rotor I'm looking at 3 options rediamond cut the alloy polish up all the diamond cut and lacquer them or get the hole alloy painted ? What's people's thoughts ??

I'm thinking that after kerbing mine.
Suppose it depends on the colour of your car too. Mine are original but thinking of a refurbished in black gloss and getting them re diamond cut.

I think a lot of people get them painted, the diamond cut part is a pain especially if it gets chipped and it corrodes. I had that problem with the alloys on my Golf.

So the laquer could be stripped off polished up and then Matt or satin laquered as don't think want the complete wheel painted my car is black

When mine showed signs of corrosion I got them all refurbed with a painted lip. Couldn't be bothered trying to maintain the diamond finish especially over the winter months

Has anyone ever sanded back the laquer etc and really polished up the lips of the wheels ?

I've cut mine back and polished them up. I started with 180 grit on a da, 240, 400, 500, 1500, 3000 trizact then polished them up. It took e just over an hour a wheel.

They lasted well for around a month, until it went to audi for a service. I think they used an acid alloy wheel cleaner on them. I think another polish with the buffer will bring them back up.

Did you laquer them or just polish them up ? By hand or da sander ?

Bump on the above anyone done this if so did they do it by hand or da sander

They look really good, might get mine refurbed down the line if I ever decide to put them back on the car

Just polished them but I think I'm going to lacquer. You can but a clear etch lacquer, think I'm going to try that.

Yes but did you polish them up by hand or use a sander ?
