Hi, i just picked up my new vehicle from a local car dealer its the 07 s line in july 2012 the was replaced under warranty by audi. i was wondering if the cam belt interval was 4 years or 5? its only done around 30k

Also while reading through the forums doing research i stumbled across the oil pump issues and it has got me worried i would rather do preventative maintenance to insure theirs no failure. my engine being replaced by the dealer in 2012 would it not have the issues of the older units? thanks

i believe the original was a bmn engine just checked the service book

BMN is safe as one of the very few that don't have the twin Lancaster balancer shafts .

thats a relief, saves me the hassle of getting that sorted. do you know if the cam belt interval is 4 or 5 years? i have seen threads saying both. I wonder what killed the original engine i called the main dealer and they confirmed it was done under warranty at a cost of 5500 and that was at warranty prices!!

Check the white sticker in the boot by the spare wheel well or at the front of the service book, the engine code is printed on both.

Audi now recommend 5 years or 75k which ever comes first despite what they recommend in the service booklet. Not long had mine done by Audi in Bury st Edmunds
