Just when things are going ok and i have a bit of money saved up what should happen, my ****** wheel has fallen off again!! Opposite side to last time!!

Please haldex quattro owners get your bushes checked regularly!!

Holy ****! That looks bad! Sympathies mate.
Is that all it is? Bushes?

Is that not the lower tie bar snapping? Don't think it's anything to do with the bushes... mines creaking like a ******* so I've ordered the powerflex ones to sort it.

Oh hang on there's a puddle of oil under your car is there not, what the hells happened?

This is worrying... What the hell has happened ?

This is the first time seen or heard of this. Anyone else had this happen ?

There are rubber bushes on each end of the lower tie arm and when they cease this is what happens!!

The puddle of oil is where the driveshaft has been ripped out the rear diff, i need another bank loan i think!!!

fwack me mate! i really do feel for you!
was it just parked up or were you driving? How much you reckon it will cost to sort?
Did you say that this has happened before - slighty worring really!

To be fair i had just had it sideways round a roundabout and then parked up outside simmons bakery, went to reverse to straighten up and crunch the rear dropped to the floor and i thought oh god not again!!

Yeah about six months ago, maybe a little longer same thing again, just parking up and crunch!!

Will do, think it cost me about £300 last time but it didnt pull the driveshaft out so might be more this time though i hope not!!

Hope it doesn't cost you too much mate. Will be getting my S3 checked as soon as.

Adam, did your S3 have the recall on the lower arms? My 99 S3 had a recall soon after I bought it to replace both the lower arms and bushes due to a faulty batch which would seize and snap the lower arm ends off and drop like yours. Guess I better check if they are squeaking aswell, hope you get it fixed soon bud. :(

That is shocking. Once for this to happen, is too much. Twice is simply unacceptable. I wouldnt;t bother with the dealer, go direct to Audi UK, and maybe seek legal advice as this is beyond a joke.

May i suggest that you replace them with some adjustable arms which are much stronger than OEM (Clearly!!)

Rich

farkin hell mate, unlucky, but i do no wats getting checked next on mine! cos its squeeking like a bitch so i think its time to get em done!

Sorry to hear that again mate.
Last time i saw the car like that shocked me but to do it twice!
Has anybody else had this problem or heard of it before?

What bad luck, hope you get it sorted soon.

I agree with you Rich, but Audi will more than likely suggest that's he's modified the car, so not their problem! :(

but what the hel has that gotta do with the the tie arm snapping?

If the car's been lowered then they could argue that the tie-arms are outwith their intended parameters. (with the amount of extra neg camber).

Tough break Adam, really not cool. Makes me want to go check mine....

Dam.. Hope it doesn't cost the earth!

Good Luck

:wtf: that is scary - I dont want to think about what could happen if that happened whilst driving - especially at speed - lucky your were parking is the only upside I guess

Surely there's something wrong with your setup and/or the way you drive it for this to happen twice? Tough break though, it's looks like one of those koolart drawings now..
