Let me introduce myself!

I am Rams from East London / Essex - i have had this car for a number of months now but never got around to put a build thread up

I am now the owner of a B7 Audi A4 140bhp which I purchased for a bargain price from a (now ex) colleague who has emigrated to Australia for £1400 (with half a tank of diesel!!!)

The price was baited down as the MOT expired (unknown to the previous owner) so I did some serious haggling

The car was involved in a minor shunt last year resulting in a Cat D - the car needed a door and minor repair to the quarter panel - the prevoius owner got paid out for the accident and decided to keep the car as the damage was cosmetic

Being my daily car, I eat alot of miles and needed something econimical and comfortable

I had my eyes on this car for a while as his permanent move from the UK has been on the table for a while now. He was the 2nd owner of this car in 2006 and paid over 21k for it from Audi. Since then it has packed up some serious miles but on the plus side it has been to Audi for everything! It had a cambelt and service last July

When I purchased this car some months ago it needed an MOT which it flew through (just needed a number plate bulb)

Not many extras were fitted to the car apart from Bluetooth (including the ugly phone cradle!)

The other cars I own include a V6 4motion Golf (with a TT engine) which I use as a track car

I am a bit of a whizz kid with VCDS / diagnostics so hope my stay here will be a welcome one

here are some photos of the car when I initially purchased her

very very nice mate, coming along well. liking the front end, out of interest is that legal with number wrapped around the bumper?

Thanks :)
the front plate is reflective and the exact dimensions of a Vauxhall VX220 - spacing wise not legal but it does comply in terms of visibility from the front

A few updates, fitted cruise control and the MFA Stalk

mods to follow:

Joey mod + de-amber the Xenon headlights + fit Osram Xenarc bulbs
modify the foglight grilles (rs4 style)

comments welcome!

looking good so far mate! keep it up. looking forward to seeing what else you have in store!!

Thanks all for the comments

managed to fit the Koni shocks and H+R springs over the Bank holiday weekend - i was worried the car would ground out and cause issues but we did a test drive with 5 people and a boot full of tools and there was no issues with the car being low
Ride quality has improved too! the dampers are softer than the S line setup!

also had time to fit the 320mm front calipers which make a substantial difference with the brake pedal!

Washer my car over the weekend

Dirt broken down with Citrus Degreaser, left to dwell for 10 mins, rinsed off with water
Autobrite HD Snow foam applied and left to set for 15 mins and then rinised off
washed with Banana Gloss Shampoo

Very impressed with the results! effortless

Black grille makes a massive impact man i always been too scared to fully black her out didnt want it to look like this piece of krap

The seats are half leather half alcantara Sline seats but the rears do fold down i prefer folding ones, iv got cupra R splitter to put on and im gonna mesh the fog surrounds when i get my chrome wrapped and splitter on

Nice - your car will look like mine once you have the splitter, meshed the grilles and wrapped the chrome to black :blackrs4:

do you have your own build thread? curious to see which mods you have without confusing my build thread!!

i need half leather rear seats to match the front RS4 half leather seats!

i wish the first owner of the car chose the option for fold down rear seats as it really is a pain not being able to flip the rear seats down!!

No mate dont have a thread , could probs do one with all the photos i have but i cba man. those rs4 seats are bad mate how much u got in them? think my next plan for the a4 is to get it wrapped the nearest colour match to audi sprint blue

im ordering some h&r springs and b5 perches next week , also looking at some rotiform INDs and OEM mudflaps

Car looks great dude, the front of yours is exactly what I'm after on my B7! Where did you pick up the US front? And was it a pain to fit the RS4 steering wheel? I'm looking to upgrade to a flat bottom soon.

A few updates:

Half leather door cards fitted which match the half leather buckets (will need to retrim the rear bench) - the door cards have the light pack so i now have puddle nights
OEM eletric folding mirrors fitted
OEM Rotors are finally on the car - they sit well and I am very pleased with how it looks
Red dot cluster replaced with colour DIS

future plans

I would like a rear DTM bumper
I would like a 170 Turbo which bolts straight on as i know the turbo has not been changed
clutch and flywheel needs replacing
decat the exhaust
fit replacement centre console + armrest as my one has the phone kit which is an eyesore
fit the heated seat panel and wire them up
sell the RS4 steering wheel and go for a flat bottom S line one as the steering controls on the wheel do not work

IMG_0122.jpg

That colour DIS is lovely, did you find an A4 cluster with 0 miles or is it an S4 one?

No updates

just been enjoying the weather!
