Right I'm going to lower my Audi abit but I'm stuck on how much to go buy, I wasent really planning on buying coilovers was just gunna go for to 50Mm lowering springs, but I am unsure of how low it will be. I don't wanna go so low I get that 'slammed look' everyone seems to be loving in not keen on it, does anyone have any pics of there Audi with the springs? If not 50 was thinking 35-40 so any pics of any lowered springs would be helpful lol

What spec and engine is your A3 8L?

Just got a standard Audi A3 1.6 1998 think it's the Avu engine? I'm not to sure mate

My s3 is lowered on eibach pro spings, think its dropped it 35mm, looks good. anything more than that will make it unpractical, I can just about get over speed bumps if i take them slow, 50mm would scrape

Do you have any pics of it with the springs on mate? Only thing is I thought the s3 were lower on the standard springs, cause my a3 sits quite high and I haven't seen any s3 that sit as high sort of thing, cheers

go for the eibach pro kit then. I think you can pick them up for sub £200 now.
or any others with a 35mm drop will be good.
Not even that hard to fit if you got the tools for it

what would be better tho coilovers or new springs and shocks? As I have seen coilovers going for around the 200 mark a bit cheaper, and tbh want to go as cheap as I can. I've heard there quite easy too make just got to have the spring clamp thing?
And tbh I'm not sure Damian I would want to just get springs but knowing my luck my shocks will be shot to bits and need replacing too

If you want something as cheap as possible then go for one of the popular budget coilover kits -

That's not bad price I'll probably go for the coilovers then, Is there any difference between the 2? Or just the colour? Also do I need to buy any special tools to fit them or are they pretty straight forward?
Cheers

Spring compressor is a must! If you don't have access to an airgun then you'll need a socket for the top mount with a hex on it to put a spanner on, failing that a deep socket spanner. I can't remember the size of the sockets though. Other than that it's fairly straight forward.
