yeah that colour really doesnt suit it !

Dont like the colour or the seats, I'd assumed for £27K you would get full leather the ones in the pics look like cloth, do like the wheels & body kit though. Each to their own colour wise I suppose..

The seats look crap for a 30k car, they look like any S Line seats that you can get. The Wheels look naff too they should look a lot more special for the A3 Flagship.

Those pics do not do that colour justice, someone elses pictures from a motor in, in I think, france looked a lot nicer.

Are the centre of the seats perforated as they get full leater as standard I thought?

SO IS THE NEW S3 OUT THEN?

Not as far as I know. It's probably one of the first demo cars to land at a dealership. They are due in the next few weeks. First customer deliveries expected in early January.

The car has full leather as standard, the seat centres have golf ball type dimples in them.

Yep, I think the seats look pretty damm good actually!

But the car itself in those pics looks pretty lame. I dunno it just looks like a big orange cardboard box with grille on the front.

Are they trying on purpose to compete with the Focus ST? I don't get it...

Let's not write it off just yet folks, based on some grainy camerphone snaps :photo: :whistle2:

it looks terrible, the seats are naff, maybe a poor example of a new S3 but i would never buy that. The 8l chassis S3 is so much more of a car for your money, electric Recaros, flared arches etc

Maybe... but I was at MPH at the NEC on Saturday and look what I saw...

Well after seeing the S3 I was in my element, my mate was like "come on it's only a S3"... Only an S3 I said snapping like crazy so I could post some pic up here. I have some more but looking at them the quality of some aint too great cos my battery in the camera was about flat by the time I got to see the S3. It was litterly just before we left!! Well worth the visit to the NEC.

Only problem now is that I want one!!

Sorry JohnS3 I didn't mean to take over your post!!

Well I have to say the photo's you took are by far the best angles I have seen to date.

I'm still waiting for the test drive with the dealer, I think I might be zooming around in a sprint blue one before the end of February....

Verrry nice :-D

well i must say those pics do actually make it look really appealing - you can see the difference between the standard range just enough without it looking like a maxed out nova. but as alot of people are saying is it worth the price??
Test drive should help on that front!!

p.s has anyone noticed that in all the new a3 brochures that performance times have increased.....or should that be improved??!!

Sorry but it doesnt look very special to me for that money...........

Sorry to change the subject but I'm thinking of going to the MPH show at Earls Court this weekend. Is it worth a visit?

No problems ;) Great pics, shows far better angles of the car than any other shots i've seen and in Silver too!

just a note that the s3 is available for test driving in Ireland at the mo, was in a sprint blue one today as a passenger. was well impressed, very smooth and great power, put the pic over in the other s3 thread too..

Was there any noticable turbo lag? What was the ride like?

maybe a touch, but nothing like in the diesel, acceleration was very smooth in all the gears from low revs. ride seemed fine compared to my ambition model which is like the sport in the uk. again this was as a passenger, but mate who was driving was impressed too..

It looks crap IMO, I can't see the attraction over a 2.0TQ. It needs the Folding recaro buckets for appeal but then they render the back useless. I think i'll give it a miss.

i was well impressed with seeing it in person, the bumpers without the rub strips etc make a big diff for me. in ireland if you spec up the 2.0T with quattro and all the other options that come with the S3 it is only about 2k (€) cheaper so it's really a no brainer over here to go for the S3... 2k is good value for 65bhp!

Hmmm, a bit naff isn't it. Other than the new front, which does look good, the rest is almost standard. The wheels are the worst and the interior looks cheap on those photos. It has nothing on the original S3, IMO. Audi are getting very lazy with their S models.

Hang on some people want completely different cars for an S and others like their S cars being understated. What are Audi supposed to do??

I've always been a fan of the old S3 although I was too young to get one. I've been eagerly awaiting this model and have got the 2.0T Q as a stop gap. I sat in that orange model in chester and I firmly decided I'll be placing an order ASAP. However I'll be buying tax free again so it'll be less than 23k :-D

Audi have become the laziest designers in the world. Let's be honest.

Wow. Wicked. Looks superb in Sprint Blue which is my choice this time after 5 years of Dolphin Grey on my current S3.

Just hope the dealers get their demo S3 soon so I can test drive one and then get my order in...

As john2garden said, that one is in Chester Audi, I saw it there yesterday - £32,390 ! The "S3" embossed brake callipers are nice though.
