A4 Avant - S-Line/Black Edition body kit

I will be purchasing an A4 Avant in the next few months,

The S-Line / Black edition does look really nice, how ever theres a massive jump in price from the SE model and these higher spec models, so my compromise between the 2 is to buy the SE model and put the higher spec body kit on it to make it look just as nice on the outside.

My question is, can this be done?
If so, where would I start, I cant seem to be able to see much difference between the 2 models body wise apart from side skirts, bigger wheels, tinted windows and black front grill.... or is this the only difference body wise???

Is there anybody out there that can point me in the right direction or something????? :)

BTW I will be purchasing a 2012 onwards model which has the face lifted front end.

You are better off buying the car at the spec you want. An SE with S-line bumpers, skirts and wheels will be worth less than an S-line, maybe even worth less than a SE as it's modified and most people are wary of modified cars..
If you buy an S-line you get the better lights, interior etc and it will sell so much easier.

I've been looking around on the forum, the black grill tinted windows and alloys do make the car look very smart, so prob won't bother doing the kits now,
How ever if there are any other mods that improve the look of it if be interested

There's about 6k difference in the purchase price of the slime which is out my budget, not looking to sell the car I need it as my family car so will be keeping it, just wanted to improve its looks slightly

My 13 plate 143 Auto S-Line Avant is 3 years old at the end of this month. I usually change at 3 years so you can have that for what they offer me as trade in? 35000 miles Lava grey metallic standard S-Line spec apart from rear tints

But last time I waited until my 10 plate SE was 4 years old and only had to give the dealer £10k for a 10 month old S-Line so I cannot believe there is £6k difference between SE and S-Line same year and miles?

Been looking at 12 plate avants with around 60k on clock, seen an SE on auto trader for 10k
The s line for same year miles I seen for around 15-17k

Yes but some people are nuts and put silly prices on cars keep looking.

I'd be tempted to put the sill blades/skirts from the sline/S4 on the SE as the finish of the sides nicely

How much will you be offered for yours do you think?
I would expect to pay about £6k to get a 15 plate S-Line, plenty about in dealers for £21k so mine is probably worth £15k trade in. It's due MOT on 31st April, I normally take it to the dealers for end of warranty checkover and MOT and end up talking to used sales while I am there...........

£15k is out of my budget, I'll stick to the £10k SE I was gonna get I think and when I get some spare cash I can do it up a bit at the time

No probs. Take care what you buy. If not buying from an Audi dealer, ask an Audi dealer to look up the car on their system to check for service and repair history.

I wouldn't buy from a dealer, cost too much, cheaper if you go private

Really? Genuine 3 year old cars getting sold private? Do you find the seller's name has been on the logbook for a year or so or are they from the auction, tidied up and sold on?

Never bought a 3 year old car before, newest I've had is 5 years, as long as it drives okay, looks okay and the engine sounds good that's all I look for, full dealer service history don't mean nothing to me, I'm worked in dealerships and know what's goes on in them

s line black edition also has B&O sound system - amazing quality sound if you're into your music :cheerful:

Can the B&O sound system be retrofitted?

It can be done but even sourcing parts secondhand you'll be looking at £600+ and given the bulk of interior will have to be stripped it's a pig of a job.

Not worth doing then, What are the stock sound systems like?

I think it depends on how much of an audiophile you are.

For most the basic sound systems are "ok". The B&O system is obviously better but then an aftermarket system will be better again. Alpine do two upgrade kits dedicated to the A4 B8 which may be worth a look.

Well my daily driver is a 206 which I've had for the past 5 years, the sound system in that is pants, so I'm hoping when u make my purchase of the avant it will seem like a massive improvement
I will certainally look into them upgrades though as your sound system can never be too good
