Hi All,

I keep seeing 65 and 16 plate A3s that seem to have (in my opinion) a much worse rear light configuration - instead of the large, very visible, long indicator strip I have on my 64 plate there is instead a really small, short indicator strip that isn't as visible when indicating.

I wondered if this was something to do with halogen/Xenon options (as I have the Xenon lights on mine) but the new configurator doesn't make this clear (this is something else that seems to have got worse rather than improved, the old configurator was better I thought!).

Also noticed that the good choice of colours we used to have seems to have been greatly reduced.... odd!

Thanks, I did wonder if it might just be the standard halogen light configuration - I think the much smaller, harder to see indicator lights at the rear are pretty rubbish to be honest!

Agreed. I have noticed on the SE and Sport versions, with standard lights, the indicators are tiny.

At night, when it's a bit foggy, the LED rear lights and indicators on the A3 S-Line/S3 look very good. Hence why my rear LED lights are switched on all the time (VCDS mod). I love the A3's front DRLs as well.

The biggest criticism I have of the lights is that the front DRLs do not become an indicator. All that happens is one of the DRLs dims slightly and a little indicator flashes next to it. Would've preferred the DRL to become the indicator.

The LED front headlights option does do this.

Ah - thanks. So Xenon Plus (standard on S-Line) doesn't then. Next time I get a new car I'm going to make sure I spend a year on the forum first before I order it!
