there os littles stone chips all over my bonnet grill and bumper!!! When you get them sorted to you have to get the full bumper sprayed or can you just get the stone chips sorted and would it look like new? Devastated isn't the word!

It really does suck. I know how it feels. Got loads of chips on the front of my s3 when I was racing against a tuned m135i. Silly me.

Nothing really can be done to get rid of them unless you get the whole bumper resprayed. But tbh that's not cheap and it's not worth it imho.

Absolutely devastated! I'm just going to have to wait till I wash it and see how bad it is but looking ay it thee looks as if theres going to be a fair few I counted about 12 and that was just a quick look! Cant believe it

It's painful but I guess it's bound to happen. Just one of those issues when owning a car.

I've seen a few people try this with success. I thought about trying it but the thought of sanding my paint scares the **** out of me. My front bumper is covered with some now appearing on the bonnet, side wings and headlights. Thought about a respray but thought what's the point when it's just going to keep happening.

Mate I know exactly how u feel. The third day of owning mine, took it to work round the 25 and got at least 3 that I've seen. (I had to stop looking!) They look just like yours and kill the Sepang blue And also I've got a tiny mark on the headlight too, I dunno if that's worse!!!! The lads at work say they can't see any of em, but I know they're there. I guess it is one of those issues as an owner, and I'm not one to spend thousands on a motor and have it sat as a show piece. Maybe il just go the other way, put wings and splitters on it and turn it into a BTCC edition!

Feel for you. Just on 13 months into ownership, and I had no stone chips on my S3, despite driving 100 miles on the M25 most days.

Until driving on a B road a cement lorry came round a bend as I was going the other way and dumped aggregate across the front of mine, windscreen went totally, small craters in 2-3 places on the front bumper and o/s mirror cover and o/s headlight. took time, but built up and filled the stone chips with paint, then wet sanded and buffed. I know they are there but you have to know where to look and then look pretty hard. Cheaper than respraying the whole bumper though. Biggest expense was the mirror cover, ye gods.......how much?

My car was only a week old and whilst sat in traffic last November a gritter lorry passed and was spraying salt everywhere.A few people including myself got out of our cars to check for damage.Luckily there didn't seem to be.I bet the tw*t of a lorry driver was p***ing himself with laughter.......:gun2::gun2:

My car has been sitting on the drive for the best part of 4 weeks and I walked past it yesterday on my way back from the daily walk when I noticed this. How the hell it got there I have no idea but might have been when the road was resurfaced a few days ago.

I achieved a good finish with an Audi repair kit on my Daytona grey A3 a couple of years back but Audi do not do one for Sepang blue, just looked at a chipex kit (£29.95) and thinking of giving it a go, anyone used chipex on sepang blue and got pics they can post

That is a great shame. I have a small scratch and two kerbed alloys only 3k miles. Yes a real pain., but patched them up and think of them as battle scars !
I will get the wheels done at some point ,but not yet..

Unavoidable IMA.

The worst to follow are motorbikes as well. I pull way back when behind one of them!

Sticky tyres + stones that have gathered in the middle of the road = stones flying everywhere

Not good! If a lorry is shedding its loads though, I would be reporting to the company and claiming?

Exactly what I was going to say. Many moons back I drove HGV's for a living and a guy pulled me over one day to say that a load of stones had fallen out the back of my trailer and had cracked his windscreen. My boss paid out straight away, as if the guy had reported it my boss would have been screwed big time.

Did you have a dash-cam recording it?

Fully agree re claiming, unfortunately, time I had stopped, turned around and gone back, said lorry was long gone, and I had not noticed which company it was with.

Totally agree re dashcam - if only I had had mine in the car that day - but had just picked my S3 up from the dealers from being off the road for 3 weeks to have new turbo, high pressure fuel pump and 2 injectors fitted under warranty after it broke down on the M25, and was on the way home when it happened. My dashcam was at home, having had it plugged in the hire car for the previous 3 weeks.

So had to bear the cost myself unfortunately. Hey ho.

Try this http://www.chipex.co.uk

I have had much success with this on my company Golf.

Touch up the chip, dab it, leave it to dry and the use the solution to blend. I have many times over the years used a touch up pen then wet and dried it, followed by a DA polish (which is hard work) and the chipex solution s very good.

BTW....VW paint seems to be softer than Audi from my experience.

Another recommendation for Chipex, it really is great stuff. I use it on all my cars for chips and scratches.

Very similar product available from frost auto restorers is Langka. I've used it on several cars, and it's gives near invisible results.

I have a few on mine as well - some of the bonnet and one on the wing mirror I got after an M25 sprint.

The problem with the wing mirror one is that I can see it from the drivers seat, so it's always annoying me.
