As above, what is best to run the car on? What is the power output when using 95ron?

Cheers

...Shell V-Power is my fuel of choice in my S3 (REVO stage 1) - I've used Momentum (reluctantly), but the car definitely runs sweeter on V-Power...never use 95RON, so I can't answer that part of your question

It'll be reduced but it'd be nerdish to find out so just accept a slight loss, petrol prices haven't been this low for a while ??

Always Tesco for me, its 99 RON. Do you mean the nitro stuff from shell? Thats 99 too i think.

Either or if they are both 99. More RON's the better!

i always use Tesco. people sneer at "supermarket fuel" for reasons i don't fully understand but i tried 3 different types when i first got the car, and there was no noticeable difference bar a couple of miles less on one tank but that was hardly a scientific result.

I am using Tesco momentum at the moment. So far, with mixed driving (Motorway/A/B roads and town driving, and several hard acceleration), I am averaging 24.5mpg (on board computer). 201miles to a tank so far and I still have 1/3 to go - quite pleased. Will do the proper calculation on the next refill.

I had an S4 with the same engine,I could only muster 22 motorway driving so 24 is impressive

This vid is from 2012, but maybe worth a look
Fast forward to 0:30 in…

That 5th video is very interesting, although I only partially agree with the conclusion, I am still going to use V-Power seeing as it's available at my regular petrol station. The one thing that did strike me was the prices in 2012 seem astronomical compared to what they are now.

So I am deciding to stick with momentum. Filled up the tank today after doing 255miles of mixed driving, mainly town driving, cold engine, a few blast here and there on motorway and A/B roads. It took 56.33 litres = 12.39 gallons.

This amounted to 20.55mpg. Trip computer said I was averaging 25.7mpg (a bit optimistic). In all, I am quite pleased with it. At this rate, it could well do 300miles on long motorway cruise ^_^

I never use anything but Momentum in my 3.2. I made the mistake of putting 95 RON Tesco fuel in it once and the pinking was noticeable and it shocked me how poorly the car ran on it.
I don't really care how much more it costs, I do get about 3-4 mpg more from it and even if it's only to eliminate the pinking, I'll stick with it.

(Plus, it would cost me about 7 litres of goodness to go to my nearest Shell outlet).

I used to use 100 ron when I lived in Cyprus (which is available at the pumps there) in my Scooby Type-R STI. Pity they don't do 100 Ron here at the pumps. I only ever use shell V-Power/Nitro in my TFSI.

MRC's choice of fuel when tuning the B7 RS4 is Tesco Momentum. Brother has one and only ever runs it on this.
