Near side HID not working

2011 Audi A6 c6, 2.0 tdi 170.

ok so ive replaced my hid low beams as my nearside was what i thought was blown as thats what the info on the dash told me, but after fitting the new bulbs the nearside is still not working and the"Left Dipped Headlight" dash notification is still showing and the bulb symbol with the red cross through it.

All other lights are working except for this one and the passenger sun visor light.

ive replaced ALL fuses at both ends of the dashboard but still the N/S HID refuses to work!

could someone tell me if there are other fuses or relays located elsewhere for the hid's.?

Took the car to Audi Nottingham and the appointment was a Flop!

They said they will need the car all day to remove the front end to investigate why the N/S hid is not working! Why not tell me that when i booked the appointment!

Im abit confused, but wouldnt a scan tell them what part is at fault? ie Ballast etc? seems extreme for them to take the whole front end off just for a lighting issue!

They didnt even run a diagnostic scan. maybe its me but i expected abit more from Audi instead of wasting my time!
I'll have to try and get it booked in over the kids easter holidays. uurgh!!

Thinking about it, My igniters are part of the bulb, my bulbs are D3S type. i know the D2S bulbs and its igniter are separate items.

so if ive got it right, the D3S bulbs are infact a one piece bulb/igniter unit then that rules the igniter out as both bulbs work when fitted in the offside.

Would this point to the Ballast being the issue?

Is there anybody on here good with part numbers?
