hello team,

I'm having some 'issues' with the RNS-E setup in the Allroad.

I'm not going to be fluffing it myself. I 'might' go for the main-dealer latest navigation software update, but if that doesn't work, then I'd be £250 in, with a unit that still has issues.

Does anyone North of the border know of an independent specialist for this kind of stuff? I'm in Edinburgh- I thought there was a place in Newcastle that dabbled in this stuff, but I can't find them now.
I don't mind spending the money- I just have a sneaking suspicion that the main dealer might not be able to help me, if the milk turns out to be sour, so to speak...

What sort of problems are you having with the unit?

Hey B5NUT,

In the first incidence, the NAV is not working. The car has come with genuine '05 and '12 plate DVDs and whilst it will track moving round the country- it 'knows' where it is and will show it on the map, it is unable to navigate to a destination when asked- coming up with 'DVD UNREADABLE' at which point the NAV crashes.

Secondarily, the radio will not store more than one station and even after reset fills itself will garbled station settings which are not actual stations.

I understand, from another post on here, that this may be due to the RNS-E unit being corrupted due to a bad disc?? Both discs don't look terrific to be honest.

I might try and go for the whole AUX I/P mod anyway, which I know the dealer cannot help me with, so I'm just looking for a specialist up here, or as close up here as I can get that I can travel down to...

Thanks

Bump!

Anyone got any recommendations for a place to look at this in Scotland or in the North of the country??
