My A3 has now been in uk port for 4 days.

Damn! And it's LIED?

A few people in the past have said that this tracking system is +/- a couple days but it seemed to be pretty accurate for us all over the last 3-4 weeks!
A knew that because it was saturday a probably couldn't pick it up, but a atleast thought it might have been ready for Monday not Wednesday!

Ah! So can you pick up Wednesday or are they saying it won't be with them till Wednesday? Because I've heard they spend a few days prepping!

Well apparently according to the tracked its there but according to my dealer its going to be ready to collect Wednesday possibly Thursday st the latest

He said it wasn't there it was still at the hpi centre

Ah! If that's the case it makes sense. 3 or 4 weekdays to prep sounds about right, going off past conversations! Annoying but not horrendous.

I have to have a towbar fitted and then have the car delivered to my work. I have, probably, another 2 weeks still... so it could be worse!

Not to bad but just annoying when the tracker basically says its ready haha, its ridiculous how long it takes them to do things! Must just be me I'm impatient haha

When you shell out that kind of money, it's understandable! It's like people buying unbuilt houses, I suppose...

Did anyone find out why it shows in QC but still status 20?

Mine is now left ingolstad and shows as dealer delivery code 46 now?

I can honestly say I am bored/fed up with the whole waiting game now to the point were the excitement is wearing off me.

Last time I will order new from the factory, if a dealer doesn't have a new stock car that suits me I will just find one who has.

Ordered my A3 last Sunday. Dealer sent me a vehicle detail form with order number on Wednesday but I am unable to track it yet, Is this normal?

Apparantly I have a week 16 build and won't have the car till mid-May :sadlike:

Think it took mine about 2 weeks before it came up order recieved then it was 6 weeks before I showed a build week that was back in August tho.

Ah ok Thanks, i'll check back in a weeks time then ☺

A little more recently:

02 Feb - Deposit paid
03 Feb - Message from dealer to confirm spec
04 Feb - Order corrected
09 Feb - Car appeared on the tracker - build date of 29 Feb
17 Feb - E-mail from Audi UK - build date now 07 Mar
19 Feb - E-mail form Audi UK - build date of 07 Mar confirmed
20 Feb - Tracker showing car in Prep
25 Feb - Tracker showing car in Panel shop
27 Feb - Tracker showing car in Assembly
29 Feb - Tracker showing car in Quality Control
05 Mar - Tracker showing car Left Ingolstadt - in transit

So in my case it took a week to get on the system, but from there on in everything 'appears' to be running early so far. The car is a standard Sportback sport in Ibis white with 1.4TFSi COD engine and S-tronic gearbox. The only extras were cruise control and folding mirrors.

Hope this helps!

That seems like a great turnaround timescale. I ordered mine in December and I expect it will be still be another two weeks yet! I did order a very long list of options though, so maybe this doesn't help? :-/

Perhaps I should also have mentioned that the order date on the tracker shows as 05 Dec last year, so presumably the dealer had speculatively booked an order slot back then. I'm also wondering if Audi produce a certain number of standard cars and then use 'Quality Control' to add the simpler options - folding mirrors and cruise control in my case.

Maybe if dealers book a build slot which is not taken up, this explains why some cars are produced earlier than anticipated?

I don't think I would have the patience to wait from December to March - it's only been a month and I'm already hoping they get a move on!

I could very well have been - although I do recall reading somewhere on the forum that dealers may book production slots in anticipation of future orders. Who knows :)

Just tracked my week old order for the first time and the order date is 10/12/15 which it blatently isn't. Dealer still says May though.

Quick question, at what point should I be able to make changes upto? Asked today if I could add another option and was told no by my dealer? My order is only a week old and isn't even listed as in preparation yet. My build date is week 16!

mine entered production last week or so, how long does it typically take to leave the factory after production?

In my case, about 2 weeks - see #910 for specifics.

Edit - Sorry, misread the question - In my case, 2 weeks in production and left the factory as soon as it completed QC.

Based on your comments why might you think I cannot change my order when It's still 6 weeks to build and not even listed as in the preparation stage?
