sadly this happened when replacing the door lock today , is it worth trying to get it fixed or get a new barrle?

crikey-

you'd need some 'specialist' welding to get that fixed! Jewellery stuff- if indeed it would take a weld...

better to try and source another I think...

In truth I don't know I found it on eBay ,From what I can see there all close to that price but it's identical to the parts in my picture so fingers crossed

fingers crossed indeed

my NS window regulator packed up yesterday

so it's in the garage today getting swapped out- £248

although that's a shocking cost I hadn't expected- my garage is terrific and I would think they are probably doing me a real favour. I can't imagine what Audi would want for it...

Ouch!!!! I'm looking at a bill of £50 minimum to do the barrel plus I just had a cv boot replaced to find out the cv joint has gone so that was £78 wasted to now pay £120 to get the joint done , the fun of cars :relaxed:

that's not SO bad on the CV boot

- I think for the window regulator, its a genuine new part, so there's going to be a cost...
