Hi all
I've been into detailing my cars for a little while now and keep learning about new products and tips
currently for a full exterior detail my routine is
pre-wash
wash
clay
polish
wax
now I've seen a few people add a "sealant" in in between polish and wax
isnt this the same as waxing?
what benefits do you get from sealing?
and what products are available for this technique?
Thanks

a sealant is more of a man made coating, instead of using a natural wax element, they use chemicals...

it does the same thing - protect your paint.

the positives of a sealant are that they can last longer, and seem to be generally harder wearing, plus can 'sheet' the water better from the car.

there are also semi and fully ceramic sealants which can last years...

so it's all really down to preference... if you don't really like washing and waxing, but want to protect your paint, use a sealant..l

if you like the waxing stage, like the beading etc... use a wax...

if you are greedy, use both! lol
