K04 experts/advice needed please

I'm planning on going k04 at some point just as a upgrade from my k03 standard on my 2.0tfsi Quattro .

I came across this set up which they want £750 for what's in the picture. I'm told then I'll need a recirc, dv adaptor and wiring for £140 then maybe a intercooler as well.

Just wanted to know is this a decent price or would it be cheaper sourcing individually? I don't want to go bigger than k04 btw. Thanks
 
That's a fair price if your getting that? I've seen KO4's for 300 quid mark and injectors for 150 quid so I guess it's hit or miss when you find a good deal.

Just remember that you run the risk of snapping some rods due to the sudden power increase of a KO4 and remap on the KO3's engine. I had planned to go KO4 myself but not after having to look at replacing rods and pistons, Not worth it :p

What price you looking at to change rods and Pistons roughly?

You can get a stage 1 to around 275lbft without buying a new turbo :p
 
As well as the stuff in the picture, you need a K04 intake and the pipe and 90 degree dv connector piece that go from the throttle body pipe to the intake pipe.

Plus you might as well swap the fuel pump while you're doing all that. mines running over 300bhp-could be as much as 350ish or as little as 325ish on stock rods with a torque limited map. I've got a CDL bottom end but its bothering to take the head off and oil pump off the bottom!
 
well if its a ******* contest.... 261bhp approximately with printout without a k03 lol - wastegate was knackered
 
It may be useful to ask over on the 8L forum,as a number there have done this sort of thing,and may be able to help as well.
