Could anyone help me could hear a loud air blowing noise coming from my intercooler turned it had cracked so replaced it and at first there was still a little leak never thought anything of it but 3weeks down the line the new intercooler has now split, bought a new one just want some advice just incase somethings wrong with the car to fix it before fitting this intercooler and it doing the same if everyone gets my drift thanks in advance :)))

But it's fixed the radiator wouldn't the rad sort of it brake to? Am just baffled personally:wtf:

Near enough on the intake on the front the crimps gave in and I think it's happened again on the back of it where the intake is

Sounds like your running to much boost and blowing them open

There's the intercooler

Could be many things ,
Stuck waste gate
Broken actuator
Leaky pipe
Chipped
Ecu problem
Etc etc
First thing to do is to check boost level
If your car is remapped an old trick of stopping the standard intercooler popping is to band the cooler with packing strapping band

You need to find out if the car is running higher boost due to it being mapped or is there a fault
If mapped , banding or upgrading your intercooler is your options
The fault could be a air leak on the actuator hose or a stuck actuator not letting the wastegate open
The actuator is on the turbo
Check the rod is moving in and out freely
To be honest you really need someone near you that's clued up to have a look
Does the engine management light up when this happens
If not it certainly sounds like your car is mapped and the intercooler needs upgrading
Out of curiosity what car do you have

Just reading your other threads and it certainly looks like over boost and the way oil is getting into intercooler it looks like your turbo is knackered and leaking oil past the seals probably due to to much boost knackering the turbo
As I've said in last post you need someone near you that's clued up to check your car over

Yeah a think it's due a new turbo personally but I think it's had a map powers a bit weird not coming in properly if you know what I mean feels a bit laggy before 2k

But apart from the lagging the intercooler is holding up with no boost leaks so it sounds promising :)

My 10yo intercooler holds 2.1bar+ constantly without problems and know many people doing same well. You blew two coolers already, plus I think crappy pipe joints are weaker (if not weakest) point of the system, not your new IC.
Problem must be somewhere else not your boost, but still check that also!

The older I/C's are probably better quality than the new replacements. Anyway, it's not the pipes or clips that are failing, it's the I/C itself, the joint between the matrix and the plastic end piece.

The joints on the plastic end caps on the intercooler being pushed apart is classic symptom of to much boost I've seen it loads of times when plastic end caps are used
If mapped you should strap intercooler with banding strap
But Preferably buy a uprated one
To me it sounds like the vanes are stuck on the turbo
Allowing no boost down low ( why it's very laggy down low ) and then it goes into over boost at higher revs and blows of end caps

I think the car needs a new turbo
That's why intercooler is also filling with oil the turbo is knackered
