My Sat Nav hasn't worked right since I got the car a few weeks back. It was picking up zero satellites. I ordered a replacement FAKRA antenna as I thought this maybe the issue. So I dropped the glovebox and put the magnetised antenna above / behind it like everyone recommends, unplugged the old antenna and replaced with the new one. It's still picking up zero satellites and gives me the 'route guidance is not active' message. What have I missed? Could it be a problem with the unit? Everything else on it works fine. I'm at a loss.

Sounds like a unit problem to me.. If you have a mate with 1, then i'd remove you gps reciever and try it on theirs and vice versa (or even the full unit) even attend a meet and ask someone else, you'll find some people can be more than helpful if you take your unit keys with you. The glovebox thing is a myth.. I installed mine behind the fuse panel on the right of the steering wheel and it worked flawlessly... Sounds trivial, but its process of elimination..

Yes, I'm starting to think it might be the unit. I've been onto the dealer that sold it to me and he said it was a replacement unit after the original was stolen. Sounds like he may have bought a dodgy unit? Or is it something to do with coding perhaps? This also explains the mystery of my none folding mirrors as they were stolen as well and replaced by none folding ones apparently! Oh well, at least I know. He has said he's going to get onto his auto electrician for me to get it sorted - so fingers crossed! In the meantime, I will take out the antenna and try re-positioning it. Anyway, thanks for your help.

Antenna needs to go above the glovebox to the right of the airvent.

If the units not getting sats, it could be a damaged connector on the unit, we have repaired these before if this is so, but it needs diagnosing properly.

We also can replace the unit, let me know if of interest.

Thank you for that. I'll see if the dealer comes back to me, but if not I will give you a bell.
