Well today I had my first proper drive to my close friends place up in the Ipswich area. To say I was impressed is an understatement! This thing must have been built for cruising on the a roads/motorways! If anyone is thinking of getting one, do it! Overtaking is effortless. Certainly showed a certain Skoda Octavia a clean pair of heels!

It's a hot hatch, it most certainly isn't built for dual carriage ways or motorways! B road bashing and single carriage A roads ill give you that.:blow:

I always though of S3s as a bit of a Jack of all trades. With a few choice modifications it can be even more.

Wouldn't say that it is all that good on B roads with stock suspension though. ARBs, decent Coilovers and rubber make it a hell of a car though!

Hmmm why don't you think it is built for that? Compared to my old civic type r it is! Overtaking is so easy!

I had an old tuned Clio and over taking in that was easy, doesn't mean it's built for motorway cruising. Yeah the S3 is a jack of all trades but in my opinion the suspension is a bit crashy and at 70mph if I remember right in 6th it's like 2700/2800rpm. Coming from a Civic though which is more rough around the edges I can understand the lack of torque and having to drop a few gears if you want to make a quick overtake.

Fair point! I suppose a diesel a5 3.0 would be more suited to that!

Picking on the poor old skoda, be careful with the VRS ones though as the cops love em and your heels will be full of blues and twos, also be careful round my way which is Woodbridge and Ipswich, there is an unmarked VW mk5 golf R in grey floating about, so dont go picking on him. :busted cop:

Haha thanks for the heads up! Just got home, awesome motor
