What is this? S3 8p

Hi guys,

Was just wondering what this is? Is it a standard item on s3's? Some sort of iPod thingy?

Ipod thingy lol, it's the fugly phone dock. They used to dash mount it there before they moved it to the armrest

What It is, Is a load of ***** and I wish mine didnt have one!!

Mines got one, i got a round magnet stuck it to the front and have a thin metal bar across the back of my s6 (other phone the back came off) and it holds the phone fine, and covers up the eyesaw too
 
Mines in my armrest and wish it wasnt...ipod thingy... classic
 
Mines in the armrest so it's no biggy if it was dash mounted I would have to get rid of it
 
swear it was for nokias lol my first 8p tfsi had this ****** me off lol
 
Dash swap to get rid of it, not sure a plastic specialist or the like could make it new :/

I have this in mine, in the armrest. Im glad its out the way and not on the dash as that would really P me off.

One thing you know your car has from it is that your car is phone prepped and you can bluetooth your phone to the radio and speakers.
 
Anybody know if you can get rid of them if there in the armrest..?

I would much rather have the extra little storage place then something that it's total crap/pointless and never going to get used!!

I didn't realise that they were a factory fit.
I have bypassed cars (not S3's)that have them.

Does anyone know if they were an option on S3's, or were they standard for certain years?
 
They were a dealer fit option and I believe all supplied by 'Bury'. Had one in the wifes 2006 A3 and that was wedged into a gap in between 2 parts of the centre console, luckily no screws showing. The microphone was stuck onto the overhead light unit.
 
What about the one's in the Armrest..? Where they factory opiton or dealer fit..?

Or are they standard on all S3 from a ceratin age..(Facelift..?)
