Audi S3 Facelift spyshots are here.
Expected for presentation in 1 month, March in Geneva.

Probable changes:
2.0TFSI upgraded to about 330PS.
+confirmed+ Audi Virtual Cockpit (12.3-inch digital instrument-table)
New LED headlights with Matrix technology, and more...

New features are fine, but I wouldn't be too happy if they give it more power. Bit of a kick in the nuts to those of us who've just bought one.

Increasing power in old model is easy and cheap, +20 or 30 PS is nothing.

The rear light cluster looks the same as they are now ... fronts are slightly different & the front indicators appear to be dynamic and assume the rears will be too.

Now what about the dash ... will it be digital like the TT ?

Otherwise very little change externally other than the front grille ... if any ?

I wouldn't of thought there would be a power increase as that would be more than the TTS @310 and they are usually 10bhp more than the S3. Even then it would be creeping up on the RS3, I'll stay with what I have I think.

just notied we have two cars pictured here.

a 3 door and 5 door but both black.

Where does it say the virtual cockpit has been confirmed ?

and yeah right .. you won't see RS3 spyshots for ages yet

Yeah, all pretty much what most expected.

Other than the matrix lights not much to deter anyone from ordering now me thinks.

Yeah ... all of these revisions are nice tweaks to have and when the cars come through they will be nice additions to the spec.
But nothing unexpected and nothing to shout about, unless the dash is confirmed & you REALLY wanted that.
I like the virtual dash but I'm not hung up about it one way or the other and more so if it is a cost option of £500+ which no doubt it will be !?

what would be nice is some new colour choices (like ara blue) and new alloy wheel designs.

The virtual dash doesn't do it for me. In fact I'd like to kick Audi's design man in the ghoulies for doing away with my beloved pop up screen!! lol

I like the virtual dash concept but think they should have kept that for car info/sat nav and retained the pop-up centre screen for media. Nav in the virtual cockpit makes sense provided the voice guidance is disabled by default (switch to turn on when needed though). Can't stand that dozy bint interrupting my music with her constant yapping in my ear!!

Yeah I'm kinda the same - used in the context you suggest it would be perfect.
You reckon they will do away with the pop up screen then if you select virtual dash ?
Audi make some really nice analogue dash dials so I am quite happy with those.

I like the sweeping indicators, they look cool, but as the driver you can't see them lol other than in the odd shopfront window reflection :)
Matrix lights again would be cool but they are a £1000 extra on the TT so will likley be the same on the A3/S3 and I would not pay that myself.

Well the TTS doesn't have one so assumed the S3 would go the same way? But hey, what do I know I'm just the 'gif guy' !! lol

I suspect you may be right mate - it will run the same tech as the TT, so no feature to run a 2nd screen I bet.

Another important feature will be MIB-I to MIB-II upgrade with carplay and android auto support fully integrated.

Car will support SIRI, music, maps, messages... and 3rd party apps like Spotify and much more.

More of a kick in the nuts if you have just bought an RS3

Think with the discounts/deals they have been getting.....plus nav/cheap tech pack for free, dont feel sorry for them at all dave....most on here knew it was coming, ye cant have yer cake and eat it.

Slide up screen will still be there, alongside virtual cockpit as part of a fancy Technology Package £1800/£2000 bangers

still cant see the RS3 NOT BEING FACELIFTED....at the same time.....doesnt make sense running old parts alongside new yins...??

You don't feel sorry for us RS3 early (ish) adopters ... Slumming it in our pre-facelifts with static indicators :)

Come on .... not even a little sorry .... Who wants some, just a little ....

Are people thinking the facelift will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March ? May delay picking mine up until an official announcement so I can get them to knock a few pounds off ??

Face lifted car...ye will get exactly that, just a few quid off..nothing compared to the discounts available at the moment....**** me its an Audi...not Vauxhall mate...the discounts flying about just now are silly due to the time of year and the impending face lift

Very interesting !!!

If the RS3 is built in the same factory (Ingolstadt I think) there's no way it won't have the new lights fitted otherwise it'll get too complicated sequencing both old and new and they probably won't have the space on the production line. Upgraded lights are usually in the same shape so just plug and play and usually backwards compatible. I can't see the pop up screen going as that would mean pretty much a new dash that stands much more of a chance going in favour of a static screen in the next A3 model. I'm sure it'll eventually go the same way as the A4 - virtual cockpit could well be an option but I expect less featured than the one in the TT given the centre screen. TFT hardware straight from the TT's 12.3" screen.

As for more power that wouldn't surprise me given the recent flood of new super hatches. VW have been doing this for years in their anniversary edition cars it's a fairly luke warm remap.

I really couldn't give a stuff what they do.

I got mine early 2014.

Late 2016 i will start thinking about what to get next. Only then will I be bothered about facelifts, alongside everything else and every other car on the market.
In the meantime, I don't give a stuff if they bolt a Veyron engine onto it.....although I appreciate how current buyers may be interested.

If I recall correctly, hasn't the infotainment system been designed so that it can be upgraded when new versions become available?

What do we think the chances are of CarPlay and Android Auto being something that could be achieved with a dealer fitted upgrade?

I personally think that a TT like digital dashboard cluster would be awesome and I'll definitely be seeking to retrofit if it is at all possible.

Your enthusiasm is over whelming....cheers for yer input..like IT OR NOT,of which ye dont...its just the way things go....lovin the bolt on V16 Veyron pund....now how silly is that quote

I sat in a pre-production Passat GTE last November and that had the MIB2 screen in the dash and the TT digital speedo. It's not out yet but it will be a option to order for £1,500 apparently so guess if it is offered on the 8V it will be a similar price.

If the Passat which has a very similar set up to the mark 7 Golf can get this I don't see why the digital speedo thing won't be an option on the 8V and Golf mk7 facelift.

Some sort of sports exhaust would be a nice option
