Please help! I'm at breaking point!!! Audi connect issue with 3 sim

So I purchased a 3(three) data sim with 3gb data to use over 3 months.
Inserted the sim and selected Audi connect from the MMI menu...
This is what I get...

So I wait...
and wait...
and still waiting...
I get the following message

So these are my settings... I can connect to the Audi WLAN... But not to Audi Connect

Any help would be appreciated, the data module is on and I can connect to the WLAN using the password in the settings area. But no connect services.

Have you activated the sim and verified via a mobile device connected to the wlan and browse the Internet OK? If not you'll need to connect a mobile, open a Web browser and it should divert you to a landing page where you activate the sim before data can be used. Once you can browse the net OK try connect again.

Also, make sure you don't have a SIM lock/password set.

Have you confirmed if the SIM works ok by putting it into a phone and getting a data connection?

im 99% sure I did this... put the sim in my dads old samsung ace, received a few text messages and settings to the phone, connected to google and was browsing using data not wifi, I can try it again tomorrow, surely it would not let me connect to the audi wifi hotspot and let me browse if data was not activated? so strange...

It depends the type of sim contract you have , some of them will only work on a phone and prevents you using it as a hotspot ,my BT account knows the type of phone the sim is fitted in ,clever stuff.

Good evening beautiful people!
Panic over! after 82mins on the phone, it was apparent they had sent the right sim but without any pre-loaded credit as purchased
went for this offer from three, popped into the store and they gave me a new sim, inserted in the S3 and connected straight away!!!

Glad to hear its sorted mate. I was going to recommend a PAYG data only sim from TMobile theyre knocking out unlimited data ones for a one off £20 best deal by far!

how long does the data last? 30 days?

my one cost £16 for 3gb over 3 months
