Hi,

I recently px'ed my TT quattro with a B6 1.9tdi and it turns out I really enjoy driving it and I love being able to sling a load of stuff in the boot. I would hold on to the B6 but there are a few things about it that bug me, namely the power and lack of quattro. The mileage is also getting quite high so I though a B7 would suit. I don't want to be spending crazy money but I was considering getting a 3.0 quattro, do these only come in Auto/DSG? I would much rather a manual and also how would I tell if a car is actually a quattro? I don't want to rely on badges obviously.

I am looking to spend around 5k but for that I would want decent spec and low ish mileage (120K ish is fine).

Thanks

If you don't trust the badging, just get on your knees and have a look under the rear of the car for the rear Diff and driveshafts, if they are missing its not Quattro.

Ah ok sorry I meant is there any way of telling visually from pictures? i.e. I don't want to travel half the country to visit the "right" car for it to be FWD.

Does the 3.0 come in manual?

I went from a b6 to b7 and I have no regrets! I also traveled two hours to look st my first Quattro looked underneath..... No diff no nothing! Wasn't impressed!!! But the next one I looked at and bought was much nicer :). I'm glad I waiting for a black edition the interior roofliner in black is a great shout! Good luck!

Black roof lining retrofit is my favourite mod do far.

As for the original question... When I was looking at buying mine, Quattro was in the vehicle title when I looked up insurance costs based on the number plate. Maybe other sources like the DVLA tax checker might include the long title.
