Pop quiz. 1.8t with cr K03 turbo hybrid on aum engine oversize tip. Car won't boost higher than its 9psi actuator. What was the cause. Place your guesses below:

Well it looks like the n75 return to tip can't go into the tip as the outlet on the tip is hitting the SAI.. but that wouldn't stop it boosting. So guessing n75 pipes wrong way round..

as they have a creations motorsport TIP, is this a dig at it leaking? or the hole where the N75 ambient pressure pipe goes into is blocked from bad manufacturer?

by the way what is that connector at the bottom of the picture from? that looks like the long connector from the N75?

No hose connected to n75, so running on actuator ?
nope

It is CM.. and it was not leaking no.

however> this bit was the problem yes.

If following facebook yesterday.... ;)

nope

I don't do facebook - but I did research the N75 ambient waste gate and turbo connectors and assumed if it didn't know what the pressure was it couldn't operate - but the other forum comments were 5psi is limp home mode so thought it would be that, and I know creations ms stole your design so assumed that would be the fault. so did you just push a hole into the TIP with a screwdriver or something?

more blocked than just pushing something down a TIP. I would not do that and allow debris to fall down into turbo.

Its nothing to do with knowing pressure.. you have'nt understood how n75 works.. Its a vent, plain and simple on outlet. OE goes to TIP as all things as factory have to go back into the motor.. Functionally the n75 just needs to vent to a non pressure atmos position. Blocked hole in a mis-moulded TIP prevents the venting so as duty cycle pulses on the n75, the pressure has to go somewhere, still acting on the actuator hence actuator pressure regardless of what ecu was trying to do.

Never seen this fault before.. Did'nt take long to guess it, as swapping n75 first confirmed not that, and unplugging actuator from any control confirmed it could boost high, so only other thing is flow not getting out of n75... Not expecting for a moment for there to be no hole through the tip.
Some homework for customer when he gets time to make a through hole so it works

Quite a bizarre fault tho. Not seen this one before. Every days a school day

Wonder if this occured before..

its quite interesting to know basically how some of these components work, I am pretty old but still keen to understand.
