I'm still to be satisfied that flashed software does not flag the TD1 - can you tell us how can this be? Even if you flash the ECU back to standard, the check-sum will show two unauthorized (by factory or dealer) interventions since leaving the factory. One for the modified tune and one to return to standard.

I was led to believe that even if the ECU is found to be running standard parameters, the check-sum will show its been tampered with and thus void the warranty. However, I'm happy to be enlightened...

All I can quote are the facts from years of experience and this is that I have never seen a car to date that's been flashed back to stock have a warranty claim declined. As I'm sure many happy Revo customers on here will echo.
Of course there will always be an element of risk involved in the tuning world, but that's something we need to consider for ourselves and with all due respect if someone is the type of person who spends more time worrying than enjoying their car, then I would possibly advise against any form of tuning.

My s3 8v had been mapped and flashed back to standard because the turbo went and it didn't stop audi wanting over £5k for new turbo lock kit and Ecu to be able to keep the warranty on the car, same with a friends golf R which needs a new engine.

Are you saying they charged you £5k in order to preserve the rest of your warranty? Presumably because they worked out you had mapped it?
 
You have clearly not read to much of the press, and the RS3 is not fastest hot hatch on the market in stock form it is the AMG A45.
I just hope Revo have this right and the does not cause a load of issues, as Audi are not so forgiving now on remapped cars.

Luckily it wasn't me but the previous owner but yes that's what happened.
 
Nothing that increases performance is guaranteed to be undetectable.
Remap or tuning box, there's been cases where tuning boxes have voided warranty. Especially on s-tronic as the gearbox ecu records its maximum torque level it's ever had!
With tuning you take the risk of invalidating your warranty or you don't do it.
If your going for a remap you stick to a company tried and tested rather than some huge bhp claim.
Tuning box is the same stick to people who've gained a good rep. At least if you do either of the above your chance of needing warranty is slim.
I will say if a remap is flashed then a dealer needs to look for the map, any map that requires ecu removal might as well have a flashing light in top.

hmm not sure which press releases you've read, but every single test done between these 2 shows the RS3 to be the faster car in a straight line... They are running 12.1-12.2 second 1/4s compared to 12.4-12.5 in the FL A45. Also, now having owned both ( and tuned both) ... the RS3 is quicker mate...comfortably.

I was referring to on paper, and different drivers different results. and a tune for me is not about driving in a straight line. and I think you use Comfortably a bit too loosely. Everyone to their own I suppose.

Lol @ driver

Both are awd auto transmission cars with launch control

The driver is about as far removed as sitting in traffic
