As per the above subject is it possible to put my current S3 brakes onto the rear if I were to put TTRS brakes on the front?

everything is possible but i guess there would be too much work involved without any real benefit. you would need separate hand brake calipers, the oem s3 brakes weight a ton, +you would mess up brake bias pretty much. i doubt you would see any benefit. i think even rs3 has same brakes as s3 at the back. i have ttrs brakes and s3 brakes at the back and they work great. i think there's adapters to fit rs6 discs at the back if you need something different.

Thanks mate, what sort of cost are we taking about for the TTRS upgrade?

I've just done the TTRS upgrade for £915. All new parts apart from the calipers which were second hand off eBay. This included braided brake lines, performance brake fluid.

I don't there is much to gain upping the rear brakes.

As above it's not a very heavy car, the rear goes lighter when you brake so no real point in having large brakes at the rear, the brake bias will be all wrong resulting in the rears locking and kicking in the ABS.

When you pull your handbrake up the rear of the car squats so surely upgrading brakes all round will be beneficial

If you uprate the fronts markedly then the brake bias is shifted forwards under heavy braking and the rear will go light and may snake around etc.

Updating the rear setup will restore the bias and neutrality under braking.

With just the fronts done on mine a while back this is exactly what we found.
Updating the rear sorted it.
