been looking at posts referring to engine types i.e. PD and CR. What engine is in my Audi! How do I tell.

should be printed on a label inside the front page of your service book, will also list what options were factory fitted, well in options code format that is, but will clearly state engine code.
I'm guessing your engine is a 140bhp.....and as it's a Cab, its probably a BPW.
The engine type is also printed on the cambelt cover at the front of the engine.

PD or CR refers to the injection system. Pumpeduse(pd) were the 1.9 and 2.0ltrs fitted to b6 and b7 A4s. The B8 onwards got the superior common rail(CR) engine.
