Hi Guys and Girls,

I've been speaking to ur partners DTE Systems and the "new" module for the latest RS3 is a matter of weeks away.

Why the delay?

Well on an ever increasing number of VAG vehicles, various sensors are being changed from analogue to digital, these digital sensors use SENT protocol which has meant that a new module has had to of been developed from the ground upwards.

Some cars like the 8V RS3 are using a mixture of analogue and digital sensors, so this new module has to be able to work with both of these. The latest Audi S4/S5 boot sensors and both digital, and in the 3.0 TDI 218 and 272ps continue to use an analogue common rail sensor (fuelling) and a digital boost sensor.

Ive not even seen this new box, and we don't have a concrete release date yet but i wanted to bring you guys upto speed.

As for results, well I've been told that they seeing 50/55ps gains from the RS3 as well as a decent amount of extra torque, as soon as i have more info as well as the dyno sheets ill post them in here :)

What was standard dyno ps/nm and whp for the RS3?
In the tuning thread 390ps is reported as standard.

So it tunes no better than the mk1 RS3, suppose that was a given considering the engine, be good to see how the new haldex uses it though there's a video of a stage 1 RS3 8V and A45 stage 1 with intake and the A45 actually had the legs in the top end!

I'm sure I have asked you this already Andrew. Can't remember what you said.

Will the S3 FSR+ box just need new files for it to work with the Rs3?

And what's the cost?

as mentioned above, its a brand new box thats been developed to work with the digital sensors found on the new RS3 and other new VAG group cars

Are you expecting 50-55ps gains from 367 on paper or from the real power, e.g. 390ps? I was told around 500 quid here in Poland for a box (which is not yet available, so maybe this tuner is buying them from you? :)), but if I were to achieve 50ps from 367 to about 420 and my real power output would be 390-400, it doesn't make sense to me to buy one (my humble opinion).

Once the kit is released we will
Have before and after graphs, but the numbers that were talked about were of an actual gain of 50/55 and 90/100 over stock the before figures

Is the Rs3 boost sensor located in the same place as the S3? Eg. still need to go under the car to fit?

These RS3's have been making 390bhp (the one on your dyno sheet is showing 387) standard. So that only really makes it an increase of around 19bhp?

Yes but, the torque increase is worth it alone

Bit disappointed at just 19hp??

Guess we need to see the new vbox stats...

I shared the same view initially, but I think we get caught up in worrying about the maximum output figure. So over the standard output of 387PS an improvement to 410PS doesn't seem like much. Looking at the dyno sheet, the standard car reaches the 387PS figure around 6,800 RPM. How long do we spend driving around at that range!?!? For real world driving, a quick scan over the dyno shows from between 3,500rpm-6,000rpm on average around a 36PS improvement over the standard car, with a 49PS improvement over standard at 5,840rpm. Considering a tuning box that does not affect warranty, I think that's a pretty good outcome for the money. Like you said, vbox stats will be interesting.

Area beneath the graph is most important AFAIK eg as post above look at improvements there.

TX.

im glad you've taken the time to digest the dyno sheets as thats the main reason i posted them, 36-49ps is going to be noticeable on the road I'm sure..

Michał, how do you know that remap will not void the warranty? I was told by my dealer that any modification will be noticed by service employees and will definitely void the warranty. As for the box, (and this is my opinion), I wouldn't buy one for such small improvement over real stock numbers. Besides, I find it a bit unreliable to inform people about such huge increase where in reality you don't have to do nothing to gain 25ps as it is a factory bonus. 0.3s faster from 0-100 is also a bonus, just like that. If you want to be reliable, inform about increases "within" certain range, not in maximum output if this was not your goal. I find it very misleading as you advertise your product 367 to 409ps, but when pointed out that in reality it gives only 19ps more of max power, you put stress on power in the middle of the range.

The majority of tuners only publish the "after figures", for transparency i have posted the before and after graphs...

Its obvious this product isn't for you, and i hope you find something that you are happy with

Fantastic. I'm not an expert, I just remember someone saying that every change in a car's software will leave a trace, even if you go back to stock map before service to avoid problems. I'm really curious to see your results on Thursday from a dyno, as well as from driftbox later on.

Im interested to see the outcome as well Marcinj. Im under the impression no one has a solution to the new encryption on these 2015/16 VAG ECUs yet, So if this guy can do it without trace being left on the ECU ie checksum and TD1 tamper hes going to be a sought after guy.

Personally if it was my 50k + car i wouldnt take the risk on an unknown.

This was from the FB post, do we have vbox figures now?

"Audi RS3 (8VA) from 367ps and 465Nm to 410ps and 557Nm knocking 1.1 seconds off the 60-100mph time!"

as soon as we receive the kits, and we have an RS3 in our possession we will be taking the V-Box out of the cupboard and doing jus that.

The 1.1 seconds off the 60-100mph is from DTE, and was times from their MAHA dyno

if you take a greater in-depth look into the dyno sheets the "useable" gains are between 36 and 49ps Ricky

this will give you an idea on how to best route the cables

and did someone mention a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds?

I can't believe some people are still saying tuning doesn't void warranty, fair play to the tuners they haven't suggested it themselves and that's because unless the tuner openly offers warranty on those parts affected it will 100% void the warranty, tuners offering to put the car back to standard is another offer that sounds very good and is helpful but in reality it's only good if things go smoothly, is the tuner going to jump out of bed if your engine blows up at 2am by the side of the motorway to flash your car back to standard before it gets towed back to Audi? Even a tune box would be a pain in the backside trying to remove by the side of a dark road in the rain with an Audi recovery truck breathing down your neck.
Please don't be fooled just know what your getting into id say and don't end up like the tit with the MK7 golf R with development APR tune that went pop and then he seemed genuinely annoyed that VW wouldn't foot the bill

The new tuning box can be removed without any tools it looks like now. No messing about! I had one on my s3, needed some warranty work but took it off and no problems.
