Hey Steve , not sure it was the ST kit I had but I had KW sport springs/shocks before swapping to coilovers. Lowering was 15mm front and 20mm rear but did actually seem to drop it more than that.

Ended up swapping to coilovers for the flexibility, the speed bumps in my area are terrible.

I have a set of their shocks and springs (40mm drop) on my A3, they do seem to sit a little lower comparable to the front. Ride comfort wise they're great, the roads down here in Devon are awful so comfort was something I was looking for when I bought them. Definitely haven't been disappointed with their performance since i've had them fitted.

Should be some pics in my thread to give you an idea of how it sits http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/craigs-a3-1-8t-progress-thread-be-gentle.235828/#post-2358065

Ride and build quality is top notch but the rear does seem to sit a little lower then listed with them.

HI Damian, this is so confusing, are you saying the rear sits lower than stated with this suspension and more in line with the front, or the rear actually sits lower than the front?
The drop is stated as 20mm front and 10mm rear is it not?
Thanks

Hi Sean, love the look of your car mate, perfect stance for sure.
So you actually say that the rear sat lower than the front with those KW shocks & springs?
I don't get why this is when Weitec (KW) stated front lowers by 20mm and rear by 15mm. Now ST (still KW) have taken over the Weitec name they state front is lowered by 20mm and rear now only 10mm. So if anything the front should sit slightly lower, whats going on with these measurements?? Did you leave shocks & springs on for awhile to see if it settled?
Sorry for all the Q's but I don't want a suspension kit that makes the rear look lower than front & I don't really want coilovers lol

Cheers Steve

Thanks mate, great progress with your car, looks good. So just checked on DPM and you had 40mm drop all round. They do ST kit for 1.8T Quattro that only lowers 30mm front and 20mm so same specs for S3 really.

Hi Steve , that photo is with the KW setup and lowered the car probably more than the 15/20mm stated but the front did sit lower giving a good stance overall. I had the KW setup for 20k miles before switching to coilovers.

My previous S3 had the Weitec kit and the front didn't sit low enough for my liking so I was never truly happy with how it looked.

Having experienced 2 sets of springs/shocks and the coilovers I think the coilovers are the best bet overall in terms of how the car looks and how it drives.

On the S3 8L I'd say the kit was more 20mm/20mm then 20mm/10mm.

Sean,
another thing did you have new top mounts when you had those fitted. I am concerned the new top mount will be less squashed down therefore changing the ride height at the front?
Cheers

Yes new standard top mounts were fitted when I had KW shocks. Changed to Cupra R top mounts for the AP coilovers. It's possible new mounts will lift the front end slightly as like you say old mounts will compress over time.
