Hi guys
I have the new audi s3 with assistance package. My question can I deactivate the distance level while using adaptive cruise control ?

I didn't quite understand the question fully :(
My car has a radar when i use the acc its keeps a distance on the car that in front of me and i want to cancel that distance.

Change the distance ?

Think there's a menu for this but it needs activation using VCDS. Anyone ??

If you cancel the distance, you will crash into the car in front.

Kinda defeats the purpose of the radar :)

In theory your asking for basic cruise control.

No if you have adaptive cruise control then the only thing you can do is reduce the distance to 1 which would get you very close before starting to break.

Although why your trying to deactivate this seems to have all of us here a bit puzzled.

I can think of one reason why you might want to switch adaptive/radar cruise control to the regular/fixed speed kind. Sometimes on a long drive I realize the guy in front of me has been travelling slower than my set speed and I should really have overtaken him. Now that I have been driving the car for a few months I can feel by the seat of my pants when it is doing that, but at first it was a bit annoying.

However I don't really understand the OP's question either.

The other thing that's annoying with ACC is when someone cuts in front of you and the car brakes to get the space.

That's not annoying but what is is the idiot who cuts you up in the first place. The ACC is only doing its job.
