I've got the dreaded shaky at idle engine mounts, and it's getting quite annoying now. I've been looking round at suitable replacements and am unsure of which route to go with.

Car is 2005 2.0 tdi blb sline.

I know at least one of them is plugged in to the harness but am insure if the other is.

What's opinions of non standard mounts? I'm not after the racing car feel.

Thanks in advance for any info or opinions.

Some people have fitted the 034 Motorsport ones, they have two types track and street. I wouldn't advise track ones but the feedback on street ones seems fairly positive. I think they have a resistor supplied with them to cancel out the electrical plug connection on originals. They're also around 50% of the price of genuine ones!

Other than that don't think there's much out there but maybe someone else can advise otherwise

Yeah I've had a look at their site and fb seem like an option at least.

Do you know if our engine mounts are unique to our model or if the same parts were used either on petrol a4s or possibly the a6

It could be that 2.0TDI engine is the problem here, there are plenty of cases of rough idle on these engines. Don't just assume it's the mounts that are at fault.

The engine doesn't run rough. It's like a sewing machine to be honest. A code read has revealed that the engine mounts at fault. And the purple/brown liquid running from the bottom of the mounts confirms this.

Ok then, think I would just fit a new OE mount. Another 10 yrs. at least problem free.

You'll certainly notice quite difference when you replace the engine mounts. Had ours done recently (by Audi) and it transformed the driving experience. No more vibrations or juddering, slicker gear changes, and so much smoother to drive.
